Absolutely not, Dude. I reported the transaction to the government right away and have dutifully reported the interest earned every year since. JUST LIKE ROMNEY.
Well then I'm screwed because the first thing I did after Obama was elected was scrape up every spare penny I had and moved it to another country. I KNEW our dollar would get flushed down the drain so it was worth it to me to play it safe, even if it was a struggle to put it all together.
I checked both links and it appears they were two separate incidents (scary). One talks about a threat today with a person being taken into custody, the other talks about one on Saturday when somebody called in a bomb threat but the flight they noted wasn't on the roster.
He's another one who tried to skim paying his taxes. It went something like this....."I used a computer program and missed the mistake".. DUH....Wasn't he Secretary of the Treasury?? I could be wrong about his position. I think a man who is surrounded with numbers all day on a huge level wouldn't miss a "little" mistake on his own taxes.
Two years in a row, no less
It goes without saying that Doodie is going to remind me that Romney has tax shelters in the Caymans. And I will remind Doodster that he was a private citizen when he did that whereas Geithner was a member of Obummy's cabinet/government.
Doesn't make it right that Romney hid his money but it does put a black mark on Obummy's choice of who was in his cabinet. And if I remember correctly....70 years worth of remembering is confusing...it took forever for Obee to choose his cabinet.
The good news is that Romney never hid it. The accounts were declared on his Income Tax which is the perfectly legal way to do it. You declare the money, pay taxes on the interest earned, and you can also claim the taxes paid to the other country.
I know...it's just a hunch. And it's what I would do in his shoes. He has the connections to make big things happen, and we all know companies have been sitting on their cash for fear of what Obama will do next. It would be fairly easy to work behind the scenes putting together a grand plan to be announced right after inaguration.
And what a statement it would make to be able to come out creating jobs on the very first day...
Then again, that's my optimistic P.R. brain churning.
Heck O-man. I've already fed the girls and shooed them off to school, then fed, groomed, ridden and washed the horses. I'm just sitting down waiting for my second wind.
At least if they are smat they will. It would be a classic public relations move that would forever damage perceptions of the democratic party's abilities.
Pssst...I would be willing to bet they have some very big, constructive things planned but they are not going to tip their hand and give Obama a chance to sabotage. I suspect Romney intends to shoot out the gate and assume the lead in a big way.
He sounded, as one writed noted, like a very slick lawyer defending his guilty client. It all rang very hollow - and you couldn't help but notice the striking contrast between Clinton's presidency and Obama's.
Clinton must have hated having to go to bat for Obama. I'm sure he only did it for the Democratic party
I agree. I have always wondered about the open polls, but I just figured the open polls were more popular since anyone could vote even if they weren't members or weren't signed in.
I think we'll all get better numbers once the convention is over. It does not bode well for Obama though. Historically any incumbent with this low of a popularity rating loses. My guess is that we will see 2010 all over again, and Obama will lose by a wide margin.
But then again, I put nothing past these politicians. Who knows what fun and games they will produce next?
This poll looks a little bit like the national polls...
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 48% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 45% of the vote. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.
Meeeee toooo! If I don't kick that beast out at night he waits until three in the morning to starts walking on my mantel and batting stuff onto the floor, all while meowing at the top of his lungs.
Interesting! The talk radio people have been saying for weeks that he already know he has lost from the private polls they do in-house. I always figured that was wishful thinking, but maybe not!
RE: Romney and Ryan really better than Obama and Biden benefiting most Americans?
I just checked the polls for today...Rasmussen: Obama 44 Romney 47
CNN Obama 48 Romney 48
Ohio Obama 44 Romney 47
Michigan Obama 51 Romney 44
Florida Obama 47 Romney 48
And after last nights events, I bet Obama's numbers drop even more.
