You just assume I'm a right wing conservative because I don't approve of Obama or the liberal agenda. I'm a GDI, and proud of it honey. Always have been, always will be.
The point is that the system is wrong. History should not be "edited" in accordance with how to please the biggest buyers.
But having said that (and just because I can't resist )California, by far, has the most students - but Texas buys more textbooks. Seems to me that they take their reading far more seriously, so why shouldn't they have a say in CLARIFYING some bad edits of the past?
Have you read the article yet Juan. If so, you should be feeling pretty sheepish by now. After all, California has pretty much defined the content of history books for quite a while now. But that's ok with you, right? As long as "your people" are setting the content, it must be true?
It's all a big fallicy. We should let HISTORIANS write the text books not liberals or conservatives.
Government regulators have granted seven permits for various types of drilling and five environmental waivers since President Obama announced a moratorium on offshore drilling projects, the New York Times reports. On May 14, in response to the massive oil spill at a BP well in the Gulf of Mexico, Obama announced a halt to new deepwater drilling projects and the end of the full waiver of environmental review BP received for its Deepwater Horizon rig.
Since the well exploded on April 20, the Department of the Interior has granted 19 environmental waivers for gulf drilling projects and 17 permits, most of which were for work similar to what was happening at Deepwater Horizon. At least six of the permits were for sites deeper and more dangerous than where the BP well continues to gush oil into the gulf.
Textbooks are continuously edited and re-edited and have been since the industry first started. You might be interested to learn that California, Texas and Florida have always been the most influential in terms of content. It has alot to do with different states, their buying power, and also how some states give individual rights for schools to purchase what they want.
Why not take a minute to familiarize yourself with the problem before trying to solve it?
