RE: Pride

Did something happen?

RE: Pride

It's kind of a fine line between pride and confidence, don't you think? I've always differentiated it by categorizing one as pride and the other as foolish pride. laugh Satisfaction and confidence in yourself are very good things. Thinking something makes you better than others is not good at all.

I think that makes sense.

RE: Time for bed...

Bye Illu.. I enjoyed your posts! Best wishes.

RE: Have you ever been to a speed dating night?

Or just agree to meet strictly as friends and keep the expectations reasonable? A little more comfortable for everyone maybe?
dunno

RE: Have you ever been to a speed dating night?

Maybe for you, but I'm certain it would be a disaster for me. I would be the one with toilet paper stuck to her shoe...the one who trips on her way to the table, spilling my drink all over the poor guy in the process while tipping my pocketbook and looking on in horror as tampons and God-Knows-What get flown about the room...

doh laugh laugh doh

RE: Smile its Thursday :-))

You're supposed to check the filter boxes?
uh oh uh oh uh oh

RE: Have you ever been to a speed dating night?

Me either! I couldn't do it. I tend to base relationships on friendship, not first impressions. I would also feel like a total jerk.
laugh laugh

But hey...if it works for some, have at it!

thumbs up

RE: Have you ever been to a speed dating night?

If it isn't there, what the heck do you do for the other nine hours?
laugh

RE: Have you ever been to a speed dating night?

Sounds kind of like those "throw aways" we talked about so long ago. Disposable dates?

RE: Have you ever been to a speed dating night?

Wondering if they have snail dating for those of us who are less evolved?

RE: Did you know? Toxic waste dumped in third world countries...

Agreed! The same should be applied for all hazardous substances or any other business, for that matter. You've got to look at the long-range and make sure everything is planned for in terms of the "full circle." It only makes sense!

The Government should be held to the same standards. Remember all the screaming after they gave the bailouts and companies then started awarding big bonusus? Well, who the hell would hand over a blank check without first insisting on some provisions?
doh doh

RE: Government

Harmonized tax?
laugh laugh

That ranks up there with "undocumented immigrant."

I haven't crossed this bridge yet, Bob but I do appreciate all the input.

Apparently it would take a lot less than that...

But seriously, I think everyone has their own personal barometer and are sensitive to different fears and anxieties. You might be prone to follow one set of advice but not another. I suppose personal experience has alot to do with it, too.
