I agree as well. I've pretty much given up on online dating. I love this forum though, so I'll still stay a member here.
I don't blame the guys. Why choose a woman your same age or older if you can chose a younger woman? I feel the same way about choosing men. I prefer younger too!!!
Hey Jackie, thanks! I like the tree picture best myself. Shows the real me. I did change my profile and feel great about it. It now reads "Not looking, just here for the forums."
The weather up here has been awful. So much rain for days and I feel bad for the truckers who have to keep moving. If this was a snow storm, we'd be facing a real disaster. Hope Will is safe and that we see some sun tomorrow!
I agree about the college thing. I should have stuck with it and graduated when I was young. Instead I had to go back and finish after I was married with children...more fun to be in college without responsibilities, I think.
Wish I had written those lyrics. But they are from the song "Lonely People" written by Dan Peek and Catherine L. Peek, and sung by the band America at one time. I heard the song on the radio yesterday and thought of this site with its ups and downs.
This is for all the lonely people Thinking that life has passed them by Don't give up until you drink from the silver cup And ride that highway in the sky
This is for all the single people Thinking that love has left them dry Don't give up until you drink from the silver cup And never take you down or never give you up You never know until you try
I don't get any weird emails - maybe because my picture makes me look like some goodie two shoes librarian type. Plus that type of person probably thinks an old lady like me has already seen enough penises and wouldn't care LOL
Have faith. Skihhead! I remember when my son had blue hair - it was cool. Now he's married to a terrific girl and has a job to die for. Just keep on truckin'!
I was thinking this morning about how glad I am that I have a sump pump in my basement, since all this rain is making things a bit soggy here. It's a really useful item. What's the most useful item you own??
5 am, son gets up - doesn't have to get up until 6 am, but ever since the time changed, his internal clock is an hour off! I get him dressed, start coffee, feed dog and turn on the computer. After explaining a few thousand times that the bus won't be here until 6:30 am, I try to amuse my son with the TV. Dog has to be amused too so she doesn't eat the couch or harass my son into biting himself (weird, huh?) Get coffee, coats on, push son in wheelchair up the driveway to meet the bus. FINALLY...get to check email and the forum. Same as everyone else with children except for the biting LOL :)
I think sometimes the kids don't want to share their Mom or Dad with the new person. Can't blame the kids - nobody likes change. And, if there have been numerous boyfriends or girlfriends who have arrived and departed unhappily, a new person may just seem like a new problem waiting to happen.
I like the end of the day, when my son is in bed and asleep - I know he's safe and I can rest. My dog is curled up beside me, my cats are perched here and there - inside away from prowling foxes. And the moon comes up and the dark world is quiet.
i agree with the eyes, but a close second is that confidence thing and the way the man puts himself across - as he stands or walks, you're sure this guy is a MAN!!
RE: Women over 50
Made me laugh all right!!! I'm heading for Europe! Thanks, Solitaire :)
