I would think its "workable"...I had a lover that was almost 10 years my junior and that lasted for 6 years (mind you i was not in my 40's when it started)
I think about it all the time...especially when i see babies or pics of my two girls when they were babies...would i ever really do it...probably not..but i wouldn't end my life if i did happen to get pregnant again..

my only comment is....isn't it funny how it is only at this time in their life...when they hit rock bottom...they look to Him...perhaps your answer is in that itself...
We are talking politics in this thread but what if you applied that same mentality to your day to day life...your job..your responsibilities...your relationship...
I think you cover them all...but to expand a little...
When a person finds themselves "justifying" behaviours of the other person...and looking for validation somewhere else so they can be comfortable with "their" relationship...that is destructive...
Just as there are questions...there are answers...not all of them do we like..but they are the answers nonetheless
I disagree...I see it as the "easiest" because you didn't have to make a decision...didn't have to take the backlash for that decision...and allows you to sit on the fence under the blanket of being "neutral"....JMO
