Don't ask me. I live on the edge of Melbourne (have a country Post Code), been here just over 10 years, and know the best roads to take to avoid the City.
I am going to the Law Institute in Bourke Street on Monday for a course. I know how to get to Bourke in NSW, just head due north from Melbourne and about 1,000kms later you are in Bourke. Glad that someone else is driving us in because I have no idea how to get there.

Hi Merri, it depends where you are coming from. But no, Spencer street won't get you to Spring st. they run parallel. Maybe you mean Flinders St?
If you're good I'll take you there Sunday.

Walk out the hotel door, go to the nearest tramstop on Spencer, take either direction free City Circle (maroon) tram, down Spencer to Flinders will take you the long way around, or up the hill on Spencer will take you up to Latrobe St and around. The driver or the commentary will tell you which stop to get off at

the city circle tram is a free service that runs around the outside of the CBD. It goes the same route but in both directons
should tell you more about it.
Merri the Flower show is at Carlton Gardens, which is at the corner of Latrobe and Victoria St (up the top of the map)
there is also a free Tourist Shuttle bus that goes to different places
