Business is business and once business is taken care of people expect their share of pleasures, and some more than their share.
But greed comes in many forms as people don't all share the same appetite. Women and children usually have a greedy appetite for immediate happiness or feels reward - as opposed to appetite for pleasure and adventure more common to people with competitive/warrior genes - and there's no limit to instant gratification. Yes, this is a pettier form of greed but no less excessive and self-interested.
in my opinion its mainly christian believers that widely practice un-fretted greed, the belief teachers greed is good and starts with very early age with easter and xmas self cherishing thought process

Nobody humble would make such an audacious claim. The commercialisation of Christmas and Easter came after people lost the faith.
Anyway, the righteousness of the religious is ultimately subordinate to God or the Church or the religious community, whereas Atheist righteousness is by definition self-righteousness and nothing else - it's the ultimate self-cherishing thought process. It's certainly not humility and restraint that's arisen with the death of god, on the contrary, now more than ever people view themselves as gods and as such respect or serve no authority or moral restraint.

Many years ago people Aleister Crowley and how they looked at the world were the reserve of awkward rich kids on the peripheral(another example is Ayn Rand) - they still are to some extent. But nowadays this "sociopathic and proud" mentality has seeped into the mass consciousness, particularly on the Right of politics, whereas "narcissistic and proud" underpins the Left because of all their moral posturing and lack of personal good deeds(e.g. 1960s counter-culture).
We can see in modern politics and ideology that greed and ego, of two differing forms, have been unleashed upon this world with a vengeance.

Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."... No.
There are some countries with a materialistic-greedy way of life but there are others with a high humanity. What is the balance? I do not know it but people -person + person- that care about people, nature, animals and the planet are lots and lots can make a difference.
Capitalism exists because there are Capitalists in either side but in fairness:
Capitalism is the exploitation of the men by the men and Communism is just the other way around!
to my mind faith equals complete stupidity, as there is not even the slightest chance of a one creator, a one god, utter rubbish that lazy minded people use an an excuse to avoid mindful study, its just plain stupid to equate a notion that religion must be right because people can feed children chocolate instead of properly explaining the reincarnation of a persecuted Jew JC. Same sort of ego people running round the world killing others with just like ISIS no different

There are still people who do not knuckle under to greed. It's difficult to avoid, I do believe, the world seems to almost impose it--see how the experience is when going to buy a car. The salesman always has this near-frantic prancing about him, and, it always has to be TODAY. Somehow he convinces many people that it just HAS to be TODAY. Why (some ask themselves, I think) does it so desperately HAVE to be that particular day?? Why not tomorrow, or next week? What will happen if you wait? It's comical, but many people are drawn in by the urgency of the sales pitch, convinced that they absolutely MUST sign the contact TODAY!! What is it that bewitches people so? Because the salesman has bought into greed, he sells greed. It's weird, but it works, at least much of the time.

For example software: Apple tries to have control over as much as they can. Current example is Metal. Who on earth needs another closed source graphics API? Also I want to choose/build my hardware/PC and install whatever OS I want onto and not viceversa.
On the other side Ubuntu. A clear no, as it's OpenSource.
Neutral in the middle is virus plagued M$. They once even broke the law to succeed in business but now I think Gates does good things with the earnings.
