Yesterday I had my fun. I'm paying for it today.

The camera I have been using for the past 3 years is a Canon 700D.
It's been an excellent camera and I have sold nature pictures worldwide.
But, I figure that it was time to buy myself a Christmas present and do an upgrade to a 750D.
While there's several advantages, to me it's an upgrade in resolution from 18mp to 24mp.
So, I actually bought 2 of them and will keep one as a back-up in case anything goes wrong
with the initial one.

Both of the new cameras have been patiently waiting for me to pick them up at my P.O. box.
Yesterday, since it was mostly sunny (albeit cold), was the day I chose to pick them up and try them out.
I had previously bought 4 batteries and a charger for this model, so I had a couple of fully charged batteries with me.

Mostly, I took pictures of black cormorants. But, as luck would have it, I saw a couple of bald eagles.
Indeed, I got quite close to a female perched near the top of a tree near a bridge.
Thus, I got a lot of shots of her perched and later cleaning off her talons in Carnegie Lake.

I met another photographer and he emailed me this morning anxious to see my webpage.
I also met a couple of women and mentioned that they had just missed a bald eagle.
They asked if I got pictures, which I then showed them.
One of the women actually asked, "how did you know, that you would see a bald eagle to photograph today". She was serious. So, I replied that "I made an appointment through New Jersey Wildlife".
I waited about 5 seconds for effect and then said "just kidding. I didn't know. It's very random. I just got lucky."

It was very cold, and although I had lots of layers on, I ended up with pneumonia, which I am still battling. At home I found a unopened package of Ricola natural herb cough drops that I must have bought several years ago and probably have consumed a dozen of those so far. They help somewhat.
But, although I ate dinner, I only have had a banana and several sips of water since. I'm just not hungry and my throat is sore from hacking up phlegm. Sorry for too much information, but those are the facts. I don't feel very good. sigh
It's about 1:30 pm and I'm going back to sleep, which I have to do sitting up, so I don't choke. wave

Thank you kind ladies. I'm doing a tiny bit better after a 3 hour nap and gargling with some warm salty water. While I was asleep, it snowed and my cable TV has "no signal". I find it odd, that I still have internet service, as that travels on the same cable from the same company. But, I have experienced a similar situation a few years ago.
Welcome Jim Happy to hear that you're feeling better. We've had a mixture of rain and snow as well as freezing rain here in Northgate, Ohio and so the trees look winter wonderland. Some people here have been experiencing power outages but in my neck of the woods my cable and internet service is fine thus far.Maybe the reason for your tv outage could be that the stations are experiencing issues.

I once had dish network and it worked 1 percent of the time and 99 percent it was out.So I had decided to switch to Cable..
Hi Jim, I am a beginner photographer using a digital camera. After reading numerous reviews I settled on a bridge camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ300. I recently received it and am trying to learn all of its features. Things have come a long way since the old film slr's. My last "good" camera was the Minolta ST (SRT?) 101 which I bought not long after its intro. (a long time back!). Do you have a page with some of your photos? Also I would like to hear of some good tips for beginners.
Aww! Jimmie
Get Better Soon!....................................hug

Ps. If You Need More Meds! I Can Go To A Walgrees For You....kiss
Wishing you a speedy recovery... !!
