All good things comes to an end!

Earlier today, the supervisor at work yelled "Assembly", which we have every now and again.

"Unfortunately, the work that the evening shift has to do, is dwindling at a faster rate than we expected, so evening shift will stop today. Starting tomorrow, only day shifts are there. That means, we are going to have to say goodbye to six people. The temp agency will call the people who are going to be on day shifts. Thank you!"

I waited for the call, but it never came. I then phoned up the temp agency, and asked if I could be put on the day shift. "Unfortunately. the day shift is completely booked up. I don't have anything else for you this week, so your shift tomorrow and on Friday will be cancelled"

So, yeah.. I had my last day there today, which left me with a sense of dread. I have been there for almost two months, so it's gonna be weird not going back there tomorrow. But then I can sleep in, and tidy up my bedroom.

Also, I have a friend who had a birthday last weekend. I want to give her a gift, but I don't know what to get her. Women in general are hard to buy gifts for, but this one is particularly tricky to buy gifts for.

"What do you want for your birthday?" "I don't know!".. I need to think and figure out, what to buy her

Sign on with other agencies and keep going, Phil.

And make a nuisance of yourself calling them up the moment they open in the morning, call them from the bus stop/train station ready to do a day's work, drop into their premises as regularly as you can.

You'll pick up the emergency stuff, gain experience, prove yourself to be eager and reliable.
PS. A bunch of flowers, unless she gets hay fever. Go for something arty, rather than classically romantic because they work either way. They're also disposable, so they won't clutter up her house with something she doesn't want to keep.
Same 'ol, same 'ol. Boring & dead in a couple of weeks along with the memory of them.
Do something to make her feel more special than that, which she will look back fondly on.
They can be PART of a gift, but not the main part.
My advice to you is try to get into a trade school and learn a marketable skill such as Welding, Auto Mechanic, Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber, Painter, Roofer, the list is endless. Warehouse work is for people who can't do anything that requires knowledge and skill. Invest in yourself so that you stand out in a crowd. This way you wont have to bother with Temp Agencies and you will find a good job by making 1 phone call.
You'll have better luck with the ladies also.
Buy her An al Eze! Very nice gifts! Woman like! love

Sorry to see your happy job end but it probably gives you a good reference moving forward and I totally agree with the blogger who suggested a trade school. That is the best investment you can make.
