Stay home order? No problem. Meet me on the GOLF COURSE!
I found a map that shows what states golf is allowed to be played. Seriously, in the middle of a pandemic golf has been deemed safe. 20 minutes drive from me is a county park... it's huge... probably a few hundred acres of land with lakes, nature trails and open spaces to enjoy and the entire facility is closed. Parks throughout the state are closed.According to Golf Digest:
“Spring is a critical time for turfgrass,” the letter reads. “If turfgrass is lost, many courses may face permanent closure. Turfgrass cannot be neglected for extended periods of time.” The letter also cites that the decline of course maintenance could lead to vandalism and “the landscape and property of a golf course could become compromised, damaged or unsafe.” The letter indicates that proper maintenance also reduces the threat of “disease carrying pests, including ticks and mosquitoes.”
I say, suck it up like every other business experiencing hardships. Mow your stinking lawn and wait out the 6-8 weeks like every other business.
Dr. Fauci doesn't understand why the entire country isn't under Stay-at-Home or orders.
Probably because they are preserving the turfgrass and playing golf!
