No way to dress it up
but who here loves dressing up ...Not in
But as in partying fancy costume style?
Its my ex's 60th tonight " father of my gang"...
and since he was born in the 60's turning 60 he decided to go with my idea " hippy style"...
which I'm delighted with as there is a bit of a hippy chick in me and now I get to be one
Think a lot of the younger generation are confusing the sexy Mary Quant style with the hippies, but no matter, its all in fun and up for the craic.
So if you're a dresser upper, what style fashion & trend would you most want to be?
Anyways to the most nicest people anyone could ever meet ....
HIPPIES
to getting stoned

I meet many hippies in late 60's and early 70's.
I also dressed like hippies in jeans and open shirts. At that time hippies use to visit Pakistan.
Many of them stayed with me.
I love hippies style and also look like hippies.
Stay Happy and Safe.

I like the gowns of medieval and get to dress in some for Renaissance fairs. But, best is to get home and ditch 70 yards of unyielding fabrics. We live in the best times. Wear what you wish. I do bemoan the trend of being as sloppy as can be when in public. Life is boring, why dress it too?
I have made several buckskin dresses. Sad when I go to powows, I am the one in period correct while the people are garbed in Chinese sequins. But, at one gathering, the announcer said the only way they could get the young into it was too allow the bright, spangly, glittery regalia.
Re-enactor groups give people the chance to dress in different garbs. Some is practical. Others are...thank goodness we are forced to wear them. I have no wish to try to drive or work around in panniers. hoop skirts, bustles or boning.
Funny thing about clothes we wore through our lives. We thought they were hip and cool and we all looked smart and stylish. Then look back at photos and it is...WHAT THE H WERE WE THINKING!?
Kris was my most favourite of them all ....
or certainly the most hunkiest

I'd of been shocked if I did not get a visit from you lol
I'm not sure if I'd agree with changing tradition just to attract the younger generation.
Like you I love the bell bottoms as well.
back in the day I was too young to wear them and when they made a come back as flares, I was too old, but I wore them just the same.
As for looking back with our styles thinking how fashionable we looked
and we thought we were the bee's knees lol
and sure weren't we
and you certainly have their peaceful ways
Keep good Timo

So much so we're asking should shirtless men be allowed to shop in supermarkets
