Runaway blogs...

The formula for a runaway blog is pretty simple. Use one or both topics: Politics. Religion. Sprinkle in some narrow attitude to opposing opinions and you've got yourself a runaway blog!

Not quite, how would you classify the solo marathon devotional blog with going on 50,000 views and virtually the single ardent poster copy-paster?
Ad spot | . Lockheed - Martin [ + 0 Biden.

Here is why your anti Trump blogs stirs feelings:
When then country is devided 50/50 should we not thread a bit lightfooted and rather meet half way instead of fanning the flames of one sided msm-propaganda trying to portray this man as a villain?
Especially when every indicator under the sun points to the Biden family as mucho grande worse than anything Trump ever got accused of doing, just like Hillary before him.

So this man who stood for real change came about, instead of an adult discussion of what policies are best for the people of America and the world too, the debate is more about his personallity- like is he racist, rude, mysogyneist, unlikeable, bully, narcissist, bad, ugly, fat etc.
Should not matter, let's compare his policies to Bidens and then have a talk. But no- orange man bad. Is all you're promoting.

Anyways- good luck with more pot stirring.
At least some of us do care about potential real change, to the better for the people
though perhaps not so much for the top 1% whom you inderectly support with your stupidity.
What provoked you to make this disrespectful comment?
Probably the wrongness and stupidity of past blogs. Just a guess.
Ehmm.. you have not been one sided on the matter,
ok then.
Love your enemy is what a cartain wise 'man' said previously.
I'll go with that.

Great, can't wait to see some more runaway.
The pot stirring wasn't me. Two current runaway blogs that inspired me to write this were:

Advice for Trump by Lukeon... locked earlier today
45 comments, bickering and lots of tension.

Name One fact YOU know about Heaven by tame97.
62 comments, disputes including name calling.

If you noticed, I avoided comment on both.
So if honesty is your thing, what is the problem with above mentioned blogs.

Are we supposed to blog like sheep or blog at our own discretion?
TBH I'm confused here.

Another thing, I usually close my blogs at 40 comments as I think 40 is enough for all parties to say their say.
Its just that I don't comment on it anymore, others are welcome to carry on though.

I fail to see what upset you, unless its something totally personal?
1) Thanks for your comment.
2) Don't be confused.
3) I don't know what 'sheep blogging' is, can you cite some examples?
4) As blog OP you have every right to limit the length of your blogs, delete offensive or inflammatory comments... it's often recommended to do some censoring when someone tries to derail the focus of your blog. That could be argued either way as your own level of discretion may be totally different than other members.
5) Typically locking your blog is a signal all contributing parties had their say 'enough is enough' or it's run it's course and nothing more needs to be said.
6) I wasn't upset by either blog.
7) I fail to see why you thought something in either of those blogs upset me.
8) Nearly every one here knows how to 'back door' a locked blog and continue to make comments.
9) There are a few members who strike the first blow on opposing comments. That's part of the runaway formula and creates a venue for tit-for-tat where others jump in all supporting their side.
10) It's purely my observation and not personal.
Actually once upon a time the formula was even simpler. Write something interesting and encourage good craik and it wasn't unknown for a blog to hit 100 comments in under 2 hours. That was a few years ago, pre MD, pre Trump, and 'interesting' was generally NOT about politics or religion, although there were a few blogs about both from time to time.

Now the blogs are so dead we have to write blogs telling people how to write more noticed blogs? My personal suggestion would be to only write a blog when the blogger has something they want to discuss, is prepared to read the responses, and, importantly, respond. That used to be the CS formula. Blogs running to 100 comments, hardly any bitchery, lots of rude comments but hardly any attacks, lots of laughter, and several good bloggers active at any one time, was pretty much the norm. Then the insurge from another doomed blogging site marched in, writing 100 blogs at a time with hardly any comments, and now blogs usually sound like the blogger was so bored with no-one in their real life to speak to that they turned here instead.

Rather do a search by 'most commented blogs' for inspiration. The comments didn't usually include stabbing at each other, pointing fingers, being snide, or bitching. Nearly all are either from a few years ago (or the bloggers who wrote more recent ones date back to those runaway blog days). They invited and encouraged discussion and oh so very few were on religion (can't count the religious novel slowly being assembled by BC) or American politics.

I know I just pointed fingers, was snide, and bitched. frustrated but I miss fun runaway blogs and your formula is actually what destroyed the best blogging site on the internet and drove away nearly all the interaction. Couldn't let that disastrous advice pass, sorry.
@Suzie
True, true and true. Those days of blogging was something else.
Trump was not invented yet, and the division was not that sharp
even if Jim was around lol.
On second page of most commented is this my most popular blog of 155 comments though I think it was at 190 before cs did some cleaning up of profiles and comments conneted to them.
I'm at page two, and that is plenty good.
Also is there still my other 43 blogs from then intact preserved.

Not one of those blogs was political. Only fun. We even had a game going where each had to know their turn. I think that was intiated by one of the Asian ladies who was regulars here back then. If you didn't comment withing 3min everybody else was like...morgan, common morgan where r tu?? and you promtly put in a comment in the game. That one reached thousands of comments but eventually someone was jealous and reported it into cosmos.

Her my most commented blog:

Chat is right though that today things are as he describe.

Changed a lot from 10-15 years ago, we can conclude.
Obsessed, under-occupied, maybe hysterical, and tedious.
Well @op, when bloggers here start commenting at length and drawing replies on THIS topic in another crasser sexist thread about tiles and carpets and getting laid as tiles are (or layed, have it as you will), which pray tell is the runaway? This or That? Parallel tracks?
I'd like to add to that: COVID and vaccines
What's with the big police presents in Florida last night Chat did you see it on the your news ? wow
Some paranormal activity apparently Chat that freak the shite out of a heap of people so much so not one person whipped their phone out to film it, some dimension crossover with ours was the word..

Won't say any more it might runaway in the minds of some.. laugh
Something about 10 foot tall ghost-like aliens seen at the Miami Mall.

That's the story Chat thumbs up a bit of a waste of police time or what Chat ?
I didn't followup on the story... maybe the 10 foot tall aliens were really there.
That part of Miami is a big tourist attraction. Certainly, they were in the right place to listen to some Latin and Calypso music!
I did see an eye witness describing it Chat, like dipping in and out of our dimension was word..
I'll have a look into it with my spooky Christian youtube channel Chat..
The spooky Christian's are saying its the beginning of the great Rapture Chat, then they started harpin on about scriptures from Revelations inline with giants and our modern times.. roll eyes
It was just fun blogs back in 2011-2013. There were at least 10 or more people online everytime and the conversations just flow naturally and in a fun way. My most commented blog was a party. Silly, but awesomely fun!
I remember the 'party'.. I was sitting in the corner. laugh

Good old days.laugh
CS trimmed a few thousand blogs last year. Probably because it was taking too much space on their server(s) so if you dig deep into the archives, there's a good chance those old blogs are gone.
Hey legswave
Hey Chatlaugh
Crazyheart... it's good to see you online. Don't be a stranger!
