Instant Karma got me good
"As she has planted, so does she harvest; such is the field of karma." ~ Sri Guru Granth SahibInstant Karma got me today. Most of the time karma doesn't work so rapidly, but once in a while, it does work that way.
Earlier today I went to the municipal building to pay my 3rd quarter taxes for my house. After I did this, the receptionist asked me, if I was going to "give blood today ?". I thought this was a rather odd question. So, my retort was, "geez ! My money isn't enough ? Now you people want my blood too ?"
She chuckled and stated that "the township was hosting a blood drive because the NJ Blood Center was low on blood and that they could really use my help."
Now, I do give blood, but I usually wait until after my softball, baseball and tennis seasons are over in late autumn to do this. Indeed, I had a very active baseball game yesterday and have a softball game tomorrow evening. However, since I was already there and since I was asked to help, I said OK. Hopefully, I will be back to my energetic self by the game tomorrow.
Regardless, the bloodletting was mostly painless and I even wolfed down somne of their fruit punch and Quaker energy bars afterwards. As I was about to leave, one of their helpers "reminded" me to "pick up my tickets from the receptionist down the hall" as she handed me a blue paper as proof of donation. Tickets ? What tickets ??
It turns out that the NJ Blood Center was giving out NY Mets tickets as a thank you for donating blood today. I had no idea. AND the NY Mets are my favorite sports team (well, other than the 4 teams I play on, of course). Regardless, each blood donor today got 2 tickets to a Wednesday night game in August. Hey, Wednesday is one night I don't play ball ! Sometimes I play tennis on Wednesday night with friends, but there's no schedule of this. It's more of a week to week thing.
So, it worked out real well and I made it work out even better. I called my friend Bob to tell him about this and he brought his son and another friends of his to the municipal center. We ended up getting 8 tickets total for our 4 blood donations. When I got home, I looked up where the seats are located online. I fully figured, that we'd be sitting in the bleachers or the upper deck, or something. No, these seats are right behind the dugout near first base. They are terrific seats ! They retail for about $150 each.

Instant Kharma...
However, it was certainly a nice thought.
I usually buy food for homeless persons instead.
Along with 'Imagine', one of Lennon's best
So good luck to the Mets.......
and I hope that water was cold!
I know he was with The Beatles at the time but I reckon In My Life was Lennon's best.
Based on the fisherman's hat & jacket, I'm guessing the water wasn't warm.
M - which part or aspect don't you understand ?
P - I'm glad you enjoyed it.
You didn't have THAT much Karma-Credit built up!
R - I don't believe in spirits and I don't have a spiritual side. I do believe in evolution and the millions of years of selection resulting in what we see as nature.
