Spring has Sprung

There is something incredibly alluring about Spring. It's my favourite season... The weather is erratic. One day will be superb, the next... there will be a thunderstorm... and sometimes you can have both on the same day.

And then... there's the flowers... My garden is so incredible at the moment. I come home to a heady, scentual (Yes, I made the word up... but it's suitable)grin experience.

Hi Abagail,
I guess you're lucky in Oz this year. So far we had one or two pleasant days. Our notorious August winds and rains only came towards the end of September. Today started with much promise and I took a walk to the supermarket (before lunch) without a jacket, but soon regretted it.

Right now it is overcast, windy, cold and unpleasant. We had snow on the mountains just a few weeks ago and that was unusual for September. No, our spring has not arrived yet. We planned to go out fishing today, but the wind did not permit us to go out on the sea.

Have a great weekend.

Francie2013 --- Thank you. I never knew I would have a garden, as a child I always used to say I was going to have concrete, and paint it green. But maybe I did that because my mother was a mad gardener. laugh

Catfoot --- This has nothing to do with luck... Every year in October, my garden bursts forth in flower , the birds chirp all day... it's spectacularly beautiful.

However, I actually find dismally cold weather to have a charm all of it's own. Sorry you missed out on your fishing trip. comfort
Abagail,

It's autumn season over here. I love autumn and winterthumbs up thumbs up it's much cooler and driergrin grin
Daniel, I was in Massachusetts in Autumn last year and I agree... it's beautiful. I loved Boston.

But in my own backyard, I favour Spring.
Abagail you'd love spring or fall here. Lemme know when you want to head this way. I have a spare bedroom with kingsized bed and spare bath! I'll show you the Crystal clear local springs and we'll tube the Ichetucknee River down to the Santa Fe and we'll check in on the Okeefenokee Swamp. We'll also take in Mike Roses Goldhead Branch State Park and Saint Augustine: the oldest continually occupied city in the US! You'll love the thunderstorms in the spring and the cooler dryer air of fall. teddybear
