Torture and Sufferings, Perpetrators and victims

Let's face it, life is full of mysteries. Full of questions that are so beyond human mind to satisfactorily find an answer. Full of dark elements it is sometimes so impossible to accept and understand. Humanity is beset with imperfections. Our comprehension is so limited and sometimes I call these inhuman acts, the works of the devil. We do things that sometimes challenge our moral and ethical values. Some are mild and some are just horrendous. In example, the Holocaust, Mai Lai Massacres, Slaughters of people from Africa, Genocide from Serbia. Not to mention the many atrocities and brutalities committed against humanity through wars.

This is not the main point of this blog. Rather the examination of conscience and understanding why man can possibly inflict harm and injury to others. So mutilating and so inhuman. The worst part is that these acts are done by unsuspecting, normal people, whom we trust around us and in the end, it is such a difficult process to bring them to justice of their being so sly and so believable in their lies. And, they do everything to claim their innocence making our justice system waste and spend a lot of money, energy and resources just to prove them guilty.

I just watched a movie based on actual events, FROZEN GROUND. It is about the commission of a very heinous crimes involving rape, torture and murder of 24 women. The perpetrator lied for as long as he could to the authorities and it took a great deal of time and money for the authority to prove his case. The worse part is that he led a very religious, very stable job, with family and children, and one would never ever suspect his capacity to commit such an evil act. Eventually he confessed and recovered 11 out of 17 bodies and marks as one of the worst crimes ever recorded in the State of Alaska.

In my state of mind, I can't help but wondering how can man be ever capable in conceiving this act let alone commit them? It was so difficult to witness such a mind boggling and heart wrenching story without truly asking so many questions that is so hard to answer. While I cried so much on the movie, 12 Years a Slave, this movie just made me feel so mad and so hurt for the victims.

Any opinions?

Thank you so much for your participation, contribution and opinion.

Sorry, but I am getting confused here with the names - and I am sure that other people here feel the same???confused

I notice that some of the bloggers are using their private names, and initials even, rather than profile name...
How can we understand WHO is speaking to WHOM?
dunno
@ Minerva88 - confused What's the matter Girl, female intuition gone on holidays or ESP not working.... dunno ..... laugh rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing ..... grin hug wine

Do all members here know the bloggers real names?dunno

hug
I am sorry about this misunderstanding Minerva, Yes, I am also addressed as Sundayrose which was my original username before I changed to the current one and there are at least three of our fellow bloggers who asked me if they can address me with that name which I love so much and hence the names..

KC already addressed you that..

There are so many of us from the Poetry corner who has been friends outside of PC and when they sign in their real names, it becomes a habit and there is about more than 20 that are prevalent in using our real names...

Again sorry for the inconvenience..

How are you?
Mr Willing yes indeed, during those days, what in the world kind of thinking they had? But then look at all the mass murders and killings I have mentioned on the first part of my blogs..Time and again, the world lay witness to all the inhumanities committed against people and it is just so, to me., unimaginable. Unreal and so beyond me to understand..

Why can't we all strive and learn to be at least a little bit of Mother Teresa and it would be a perfect world if we were to follow half of what she has done, isn't it?
Safety is the number one illusion of the modern humans. It allows placing themselves in circumstances that numbs their instints and intuitions for what most likely will come. Of course, "Frozen ground" talks a different language of the subject...but let's remember there's always the right bread for a special appetite.

Sometimes people allow others brutality because the individuals or ethnics are not seen as such(people)...thinking the Holocaust...or the powers that be, too late or too strong to overthrow, what's left is our self preservation instincts which may deter some kind of justice...
Sometimes a war that exists over hundreds of years prevents us as people to forgive(Serbia...Bosnia),the people cannot co-exist peacefully...allowing such crimes to fester...
At times it may be the judicial system...for those with money and power...a good lawyer can mean a not guilty verdict...or those without means financially or lack the character needed to win a case are deemed unreliable...with that in mind, the system itself may be corrupt...I have yet to see some of the movies mentioned but it will leave a sadness that hopefully all that see these historic films may learn from...

You bring a totally relevant element there Motta, first of all welcome, and second thank you for such a very important addition on the opinions to be considered.

So may I theorize then that because of this safety illusions, we commit a set up to trigger us into this crime so we gain what we most aim to do? 911, for instance, the result of which shaped the US concept on the protection of further commitment to such a crime and hence their justification on the intrusion put upon ourselves as further discussed on the lack of privacy? That for the authority to monitor such an activity, they do need to monitor all our actions? For prevention?

Or another thing I can think of is, that there is no such thing as safety because in reality we can disappear in thin air? through man's ability to annihilate man through modern science?

On your contention about the flaw of our justice to provide justice to the victims, ie Nicole Simpson, is simply an overlook and manipulation on the procedure of using and applying the methods to gather such a proof. An often tool to win a no guilty verdict even if within the eyes of an ordinary individual, the truth is shouting out for everyone to see. And yes where was justice for the family of the victims on this case..

Thank you my friend..
Hello Tatami, how are you? Of course, they are a very sick people. The very reason of their being sick does no justification of their actions. However, if we all agree that these people are sick, like we label them after they commit the crime, shouldn't there be a way of a program and or system where we get tested and see if we are, then we should be given a medication to cure us? Before the infliction of these heinous crimes?

Now like Ian mentioned on the first comments, about the SHIRE PROJECT, would there be a way where instead of killing the aggressor's whole body, can't we, at the moment isolate these genes that are ingrained in us and completely clean us?

I am not even more confused..

But thanks for your contribution and I have not heard of that case, about them Filipino family who was a victim of such a disorder..
Who is really civilized in all this; laugh agresor, innocent who is waiting in line to be sloter, people who's watching all that comfortably on TV from they're couch/langroom or UN who's watching and not doing anything about?confused
Religion is often used as cover up for war but the real reasons are greed...and it's not religion fault to be blame but it's people with twisted mind who's using religion to hide behind they're horror act;it's media that brain wash and adding oil on fire to make people hate and do horible things in war...
I agree with you;religion should be used for doing good and I don't care who is what religion, innocent civilians should be protected and as long world doesn't do much about it to stop it - do we have a right to call ourselves civilized world ? Americans have had real courage to do something

My dear Enigma, how hard must have it been for you to be there personally have witnessed such a crime. You and Mr. Ian, had in fact been an eyewitness and I can imagine the coil of madness upon the crevice of your mind, And to think that you were there, helpless to do anything to help them..

And on your opinion about being civilized? Yes, indeed, when we do such an appalling act, in the name of societal progression, what have we really accomplish?

Thanks again my dear Enigma. You always come with a lot of experience poured on the substance of your comments..

Thanks so much..
what better can be done in our life and what good we can do to all who we're surrounded with. It's important to be surrounded with positive people who brings best in us.

Enigma my dear friend, I just want you to know what a privilege to be your fellow blogger, let alone your friend. And I say this with so much respect. You should have been a College professor. Your extensive knowledge and your experience on a personal level of exposure warrant you to be a very good tool to inform this world who remain ignorant on the extent of man's callousness and indifference, all for lack of acceptance, as you, said, with our religious differences and race. Albeit, I am sure as you and Ian covered it up very well with Hans too, on the greed, human greed and self aggrandizement are but the real core of this injustice committed against humanity.

Your last question, is the biggest role I am trying to study further as to how can we IMPROVE OURSELVES. HOW CAN WE BECOME BETTER. HOW CAN WE BE UNITED IN THE NAME OF LOVE, KINDNESS AND COMPASSION AND LET GO ALL OUR DARK ELEMENTS?

HOW? ANYONE?

Thanks my dear dear friend..

Respectfully,

That is the answer to all our problems my friend. The inability to find beauty in our inherent imperfections. Our being too judgmental and fail to recognize that the very reasons upon which we differ should be the very cause upon which we exult ourselves, as we are.

Yes I do recognize that we do make up some kind of self recognition but it shouldn't be at the expense of others. We should truly complement one another and spread good energy, good feelings, good spirit and goodness to all creatures. A paradise we all long to have.

Now whether it will happen here or another life, is another story.

Thanks again my friend..
'why man can possibly inflict harm and injury to others. So mutilating and so inhuman.'

I have no idea dear phyllis,

My best and only guess would be that anyone who participates in such acts does so out of an intense fear that stems from an incomplete remembrance or knowing of who they really are in relationship to their Divinity... he or she sees and experiences him or herself as separate from others, as separate from The Source.

That's all I got on this one rose
Thank you my dear friend. That is a very good way of putting it. Sad but its part of our surroundings and I know all I can say is be aware that what we pray for is for the good of all.

Thanjs my friend
Thank you so much Tatami. Yes it is absolutely happening all over the world.

I am just thankful that I live in one of the best place in the world when it comes to equality and freedom.

Thank you again.

Hello my friend lou, how are you keeping up?

Well to tell you frankly, I don't really have no clue on the nature or procedure involved in capital punishment.

But is it any humane way?
lind
Watched a documentary about it and it seems a clinical approach to legal killing is the only way it seems to keep people from feeling the guilt? of killling another human being...it is hard to imagine how people in those positions of the killing feel about their jobs...or try to rationalize it...thats's the point, making it clean...clinical... somehow makes it right...
loulou;you've made a good point.
I think Australia has most Human law in respecting life and not following USA capital punishment but I do fell a bit embarist how refugies are badly treated in another country.
When I think of serial killers I always wonder do they deserve to live ? wave
enigma
Yes, difficult situation to be in...a serial killer to be spared after so much damage done...but life in prison must be a special kind of hell on earth...
Lou my friend, yes there are so many ways in carrying out CP and in the old they either burned or hanged and of course the barbaric guillotine for all the people to see.

Today it's a little more human as they either inject or gas these criminals up.

Not sure of hell in prison because in my country they get good food, tv, and treated nicely that people prefer to be in prison than living on the streets.
My dear Enigma I'm also not sure about them deserving to live.

Australia has the most open door when it comes to asylum and the most lenient and provide the most benefits to them.

But I feel the growing uneasiness of the citizens because of t that.

Thank you
lind
Not a fan of the death penalty...too many mistakes made in the name of justice...however...yes, prisoners have three meals a day and exercise but they lack freedom...I was thinking of Jeffery Dahlmer and how he got killed by another inmate...fear of knowing you are a target...quite frightening and my version of hell on earth...
Hope things are good with you and enjoying yourself!!
Oh yes, I do believe that hell is really here on earth my friend. And to tell you quite frankly there were so many incidents myself when I have truly experienced them. I never believe in the Bible's idea of having a place called hell when we die.

I do have more consideration in the application of having these sick people like him, Jeffrey Dahmer and Bob Hanson be put to death instead of keeping them in jail as the expense of the government in keeping them is way too much for the taxpayers to shoulder.

I am hanging in there my friend. I will be so happy to hook up with you to spend some time if you have on your vacation.

I will mail you.Thanks my friend.bouquet gift

Working nights tonight and will be getting a cat nap in before...will check mail when at work...have a good day!!wine
Ok my friend. Rest so you have a lot of energy to be served to those lucky people under your care. I admire you so much. Perhaps if I had a strength to handle the sight of blood, I would have probably been a doctor and or nurse.

I am too weak my friend.

Thank you so much for being a friend..and you too, my dear Enigma, and to all who are so nice and kind..
