The cure for religion,
Terrorism & homelessness all in one small move, shame it wouldn't cure cancerMost of the cells in our bodies circulate harmlessly around doing there good work, that is until they turn cancerous, then like terrorists they're only aim in life is take over the body for there own ends & kill. If it were possible to stop that first cancerous cell from spreading that would equate to the cure would it not We may not be able to do that with cancer but we could with religious terrorists, of any persuasion, merely by making all religious communication illegal & punishable by severe penalties
How it could work - Nobody is stopped from believing what they like, they can pray if they choose or not if they don't, but what they can't do is spread their religion to others, not a mention of religion would be allowed, anywhere, this will not infringe on anyone's beliefs, nor would it end religion as god or Christ or whatever would still be able to talk to you personally
As religion would become just a personal thing there would be no need of churches, mosques etc, these would automatically become shelters for the homeless, the running of which would be funded by donations from people wishing to do so as they currently do paying for their house of prayers, religious organisations would become charities doing good work & funded as now. Everyone would be equal, the religion section would be removed from the CS profile for example, thus also removing another potential barrier between members
For me the question to be asked is, how many lives is your religion worth, one, a thousand, a million As I believe all lives are sacred & equal just one death as a result of another's beliefs is one too many, above is one solution

It's true that radicalism should be forbidden, but it is nearly impossible to forbid religious groups. And trying to forbid them made the ISIS develop.
I would rather like to live in a state like Kuwait than in a total communist state which has been grounded on no religious thoughts.
Religion has created precious thoughts for mankind, and also the human rights have been Set up by Christians.
You´ve got it all figured out ZN. And who do you think will decide and implement the new laws?
Will this be a part of the NEW World Order?
And what will happen to the Pope? Maybe they could also use the Vatican as a homeless shelter?
The pope would become the head of a charity, maybe then they could spend some of that dosh they've accumulated over the years on some good works for a change
However, on the annual income tax form for declaration, people seem to be very proud to write their religion.
Which means they will be charged a "Church Tax".
And those who do pay tax because they fill in that box, they are quite happy doing so.
Joke! Nice to see you again, too!
If we hadn't the Human Rights Charta, I believe the world would be much more awful as it already is.
Bringing about effective thoughts for mankind is based on more complicted facts than just practical ones. I believe that humans also have a soul which is inspired by thoughts which not only result from ones brain.
Anyhow, a demanding blog!
"Wonderfully, Comrade Commissar!" He replied. "The potatoes are stacked halfway to heaven!"
The Commissar upbraded the overseer for his comment, because heaven wasn't real.
Said the overseer, "That's okay, Comrade Commissar. The potatoes aren't, either!"
The police will be round later to deal with your violation, quoting from a banned book
Agreed. The Russians/Soviets did keep an iron boot on the necks of various fanatic sects (religious & nationalist) for some 70 years.
As did aging Stalinist strongmen in the Mideast (Saddam, Khadaffi, Mubarak).
Recent developments, such as in Syria, might suggest Russia is attempting to re-establish such arrangements in the wake of the ill-conceived "Arab Spring".
There's a NEW sheriff in town, you might say.
But that could be the subject of a whole different blog.
Having said all that the UK government announced this week that they'd be closing down any establishment that preaches radical hatred, so it may not be as far fetched as it seemed when I dreamt it up over coffee this morning
Actually I would be in favor of simply selling the land the churches are on and putting up apartments. You could get a very nice High Rise building on the land Notre Dame sits on. And although the Vatican City is small, I am sure we could cram a new, fairly decent, chrome plated mega shopping mall into that space.
Eh, Ken?
.....
Better to stick with coffee...like Z.
Realistic, no?
Touchè, Usha!
I do get tired of believer-bashing. Believing there is something more than random chaos works for some people, not for others, and extremists for or against are terminally dull.

It's not "human nature", it's the Great Commission:
"And (Jesus) said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.'"
- Mark 16: 15-16
Folks may "not believe", but spreading that message has been the motivation for much (most?) of the history of Western Civilization...
Christianization of Greece/Rome/Europe,
Age of Discovery,
Renaissance,
Reformation,
European empires...
If religion were never invented, we would use xenophobia, power, land, something, as a reason to fight the 'other'.
The only problem with religion, as opposed to the other reasons to fight or not, is that some religions offer their members a reward in the next world. That is hard to compete with.
