The cure for religion,

Terrorism & homelessness all in one small move, shame it wouldn't cure cancer sigh

Most of the cells in our bodies circulate harmlessly around doing there good work, that is until they turn cancerous, then like terrorists they're only aim in life is take over the body for there own ends & kill. If it were possible to stop that first cancerous cell from spreading that would equate to the cure would it not dunno We may not be able to do that with cancer but we could with religious terrorists, of any persuasion, merely by making all religious communication illegal & punishable by severe penalties wow

How it could work - Nobody is stopped from believing what they like, they can pray if they choose or not if they don't, but what they can't do is spread their religion to others, not a mention of religion would be allowed, anywhere, this will not infringe on anyone's beliefs, nor would it end religion as god or Christ or whatever would still be able to talk to you personally uh oh

As religion would become just a personal thing there would be no need of churches, mosques etc, these would automatically become shelters for the homeless, the running of which would be funded by donations from people wishing to do so as they currently do paying for their house of prayers, religious organisations would become charities doing good work & funded as now. Everyone would be equal, the religion section would be removed from the CS profile for example, thus also removing another potential barrier between members dancing

For me the question to be asked is, how many lives is your religion worth, one, a thousand, a million dunno As I believe all lives are sacred & equal just one death as a result of another's beliefs is one too many, above is one solution idea

Hi Zmountain! coffee sheep batting

It's true that radicalism should be forbidden, but it is nearly impossible to forbid religious groups. And trying to forbid them made the ISIS develop.
I would rather like to live in a state like Kuwait than in a total communist state which has been grounded on no religious thoughts.
Religion has created precious thoughts for mankind, and also the human rights have been Set up by Christians.
Wowww...wow

You´ve got it all figured out ZN. And who do you think will decide and implement the new laws?
Will this be a part of the NEW World Order? confused

And what will happen to the Pope? Maybe they could also use the Vatican as a homeless shelter? dunno
Min, there'd be nothing to be decided, it would just require some new legislation, the police would enforce the law as normal.

The pope would become the head of a charity, maybe then they could spend some of that dosh they've accumulated over the years on some good works for a change professor wine
Well, in Germany for example (I don´t know about other countries?), when you fill in forms (also for job applications) they always ask you for your religion - which I never used to answer as it is none of their business!

However, on the annual income tax form for declaration, people seem to be very proud to write their religion.
Which means they will be charged a "Church Tax".
Min, so my idea will save you some tax as well, bonus laugh rolling on the floor laughing
But I did not pay any church tax!

And those who do pay tax because they fill in that box, they are quite happy doing so.
Min, well the solution is in the OP, that would just become Homeless Tax instead professor
Zmountain, don't you dare look! professor

Joke! Nice to see you again, too! cool laugh

If we hadn't the Human Rights Charta, I believe the world would be much more awful as it already is.

frustrated handshake
Sorry - THAN it is..laugh
Please skip the line where it says I am a teacher.. moping help dancing
Calleis, yes I expect so, but you don't need religion to produce legislation like that, any elected government should be capable of such, if not the next time vote with your feet rolling on the floor laughing
Calleis, under my proposal being a teacher is fine, just not a religious teacher rolling on the floor laughing
Zmountain, for God's sake I am not a religious teacher. Then I would invite everyone to drop their traditions and start living a mdern life style. cheering laugh

Bringing about effective thoughts for mankind is based on more complicted facts than just practical ones. I believe that humans also have a soul which is inspired by thoughts which not only result from ones brain. daydream
Are our opinions far apart? hug laugh
Calleis, my opinions are often far apart from others, I'm used to that rolling on the floor laughing But as you say lets live a modern life, based on science & fact rather than a load of old books that imo have little basis in reality doh
Zmountain, I guess this is good as everyone lives his/her own reality. wine thumbs up
Anyhow, a demanding blog! thumbs up
Calleis, I haven't had any death threats.....yet, so all going well laugh rolling on the floor laughing wine
I nominate, Z to lead the new world order.
Lucky, heaven forbid doh oh mustn't mention heaven laugh beer
The overseer of a Soviet collective farm was asked by the Communist Commissar how the harvest was progressing.
"Wonderfully, Comrade Commissar!" He replied. "The potatoes are stacked halfway to heaven!"
The Commissar upbraded the overseer for his comment, because heaven wasn't real.
Said the overseer, "That's okay, Comrade Commissar. The potatoes aren't, either!"

cowboy
Mic, I'm not sure I see the connection with what I'm proposing to the non elected communist Soviet Union, that said there wasn't that much terrorism there back then, correct my history if I'm wrong but it was after the break up that terrorism became a problem there dunno

The police will be round later to deal with your violation, quoting from a banned book professor rolling on the floor laughing
I'm not sure someone running on that platform could GET elected. confused

Agreed. The Russians/Soviets did keep an iron boot on the necks of various fanatic sects (religious & nationalist) for some 70 years.

As did aging Stalinist strongmen in the Mideast (Saddam, Khadaffi, Mubarak).
Recent developments, such as in Syria, might suggest Russia is attempting to re-establish such arrangements in the wake of the ill-conceived "Arab Spring".
There's a NEW sheriff in town, you might say.

But that could be the subject of a whole different blog.

cowboy
Mic, indeed a whole different area wow I tend to agree that being elected on this ticket is unlikely, at present, but who knows what may be possible when the front line reaches your street uh oh
Having said all that the UK government announced this week that they'd be closing down any establishment that preaches radical hatred, so it may not be as far fetched as it seemed when I dreamt it up over coffee this morning rolling on the floor laughing
This is so old an idea. All it did for the Romans when they tried it was to create secret communications. Doors with a fish sign on them for members of the 'forbidden' non-Holy Roman Catholic varieties of Christianity, etc.

Actually I would be in favor of simply selling the land the churches are on and putting up apartments. You could get a very nice High Rise building on the land Notre Dame sits on. And although the Vatican City is small, I am sure we could cram a new, fairly decent, chrome plated mega shopping mall into that space.

Usha, I'm confident saying, I speak for all the men here when I say, we are eagerly waiting for your 18 year bedroom history blog.
Ken, glad to know my idea is in such civilised company as the Romans dancing As for turning the Vatican into a shopping mall, what can I say, only in America laugh rolling on the floor laughing laugh
I like my beliefs. I would never kill anyone for them, and anyone who expected me to die for them would probably kill me on any other slim excuse anyway.

I do get tired of believer-bashing. Believing there is something more than random chaos works for some people, not for others, and extremists for or against are terminally dull.

JMO
Biff, no bashing going on here professor I've heard extremists called lots of things but that has to be the first time for dull wow laugh
Haha Z I didn't mean to accuse you of bashing or extremism, this is probably the most moderate blog on the subject EVER. peace
Problem is people believe they must spread their religion and not even chopping off their heads can stop them. So no matter what punishment they come up with they will not keep it private.
Ek, I fear you're 100% right there, it seems to be human nature to want everyone to share your beliefs, but with religion it's more aggressive, after all I've never had someone knock on my door & try & convince me to say use the same brand of toothpaste as them rolling on the floor laughing wine
Z & eks...
scold It's not "human nature", it's the Great Commission:

"And (Jesus) said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.'"
- Mark 16: 15-16

Folks may "not believe", but spreading that message has been the motivation for much (most?) of the history of Western Civilization...
Christianization of Greece/Rome/Europe,
Age of Discovery,
Renaissance,
Reformation,
European empires...

cowboy
Z humans are basically a tribal society - based bunch

If religion were never invented, we would use xenophobia, power, land, something, as a reason to fight the 'other'.

The only problem with religion, as opposed to the other reasons to fight or not, is that some religions offer their members a reward in the next world. That is hard to compete with.
