The art of blogging

To me a successful blog is an interesting subject matter, well written, but not so long and tedious as to be a drain on my life!

Very long 'wordy ' blogs tend to put me off. Especially if it looks like one long sentence, not divided up into shorter paragraphs.

Shorter, edited, blogs suit me better.

I don't blog so I can skip that question.

I comment if I am interested in the theme, and/or the blogger is not the self -important type who thinks their opinion is the only correct one, and is just blogging to hear the sound of their own voice.

I would recommend forums first, then blogs, if I wanted to hear what the person had to say for themselves

What makes a successful blog? Think you nailed that already

a) I go with what's on my mind at the time.
b) not upset, no. I enjoy comments that spark discussion, sure. Sometimes I've put up a slightly depressed blog and finished the evening grinning from ear to ear. Yay for CS!

c) There've been times I've enjoyed a blog but haven't had anything to add and those are the times I wish we had a 'like' button.
d) I like a response, but some bloggers are known to write and run. Often the comments on their blog take on a life of their own BECAUSE no-one expects a response from the OP and that can be fun in itself.

By the way you forgot e) have you ever suggested the blog to other CS users?

Lindsy at first blogging was scary, searched the site for tutorials and had to learn reading people and trying. Think there is still a lot to learn. Some people seem to be just naturals at this. The way they blog or comment. I've read all of yours and I know I don't comment on them but I do read them. Well guess you are starting to know me and politics isn't something easy for me to comment on.
I must say the day you posted on Kens blog about photos was interesting, how people doubted you being real. How important a photos is for others. I don't really care about that as I know its real people typing and wouldn't really care what they looked like. Its what they say that I find interesting.

Johnny thanks for your input. I have only one question now.. Do you comment on my blogs cause you find them interesting or cause I'm considered a friend?

To your last question. .have I suggested the blogs?

Unfortunately the men who seem to be interested in me don't want anything to do with blogs.

Some might venture in the blog land to read some of my blogs just to be polite but this is as far as it goes.

Loulou, I've noticed that you are one of those people that isn't scared of any topic or giving your opinion. You are straight forward even if you don't agree with what is said. You polite and correct. Your blogs are always intersting to read and are indeed of human interest.

Ek, glad to see you. I already told you once how I saw you and even after your reply I must admit I admire you still as a very strong woman and i dont mean phyically. It's always enjoyable to see how things are going for you and how they make you feel.

Red, I always check your blogs, mostly to see your photos. You make me smile the way you get out of problems or into them.
Must say I do get disappointed when you post a blog without a photos.

Molly, I have taken a look at the forums but must say I get lost there. Would love to meet you when you come to Spain, just know that you are easy to get along with. Your comments are those I love reading and much more when you and Biff start talking. ( Can't stop laughing) Wonder what it would be like to get us all in the same place talking.

Biff, I love the way you write, I must read one or all of your books. Always wanted to ask you to write a tutorial on blogging for me, as I think you are one of the experts here.

Track what's wrong with your blogs? Think yours are one of the easist to make comments on.

I,m Blogging for to open Peoples minds,to start to think and get them out from the Box.....in fact from already young,I did not like standard opinions and regulations,so I always protested against them and I have never bow for anybody.....I don't like People in a flock,like ants or like lemmings,that run together over the cliff to a mass death,I'm supporting individuality,using own brain and not following any doctrine like system,bound in chains or living in a box.
I have always like to make a chock into standard things,and as example,when I was asked to join a adviser board in a big Bank in Finland,when I was 37 years old,i walk in to the meeting without tie,even I knew very well,that in that time,it was like a crime against all Bank etiquette to do that.....the place of the meeting was held in a very high class old style room and all other advisers was in age from 50 to 70 years old and Professors,big company leaders and similar and everybody in very formal cloths.....of course they got a chock,when so much younger guy walk in with no tie and over all not so formal cloths.....when we was sitting down,I start the conversation,asking strait,"why they had ask me to join this adviser board"because I was still so young....I did not get an answer,they all just start to laugh......i was then in that board for about 8 years,up to the moment I left Finland for Antigua.
I have not use a tie in last 40 years and I have walk in to many places,where in regulations you have to use and the only time,that I use a tie,was when I visited New York stock exchange,because nobody are allowed to come in there without tie and I was to interested to see how they work there,so I gave up my right to do what I want for that time.

So I don't care so much,if the comments are negative and I don't take out my Blog even there is coming something,that looks not nice and I don't block anybody either....because for me it is important to get opinions from every corner and what ever dark places,because that is what make People to think and that is my point in my Blogging.

Also I have had in my own life so very much experience from what ever,that sharing about it,can help People struggling with something similar and also perhaps open their eyes to understand better how to handle things.

Rolf you sure are diferent and most dyslexics think out of the box, but you shouldn't take other peoples opinion as being negative. The only thing that worries me is that you aren't positive and always find dark places in other peoples thoughts. I do respect your ideas but no always agree with them, so hopefully you will always treat me with the same respect I show you.

Rolf, don't get upset, like you say I can only give an opinion on the part you show on the blogs. Im not in Antigua and Im not with your family. You want us to think but you always sound negative. Life isn't that bad, well at least my impression of it.
I'm sure there is much more to you that what we see. Same as each person on here. I would like to see one day the man that jokes and laughs . I'm interested in knowing what makes you happy. I already know what upsets you.

To blog properly, you have to get in the zone first. A good session of listening to death metal and smoking weed is the logical starting point. Then you want to take some hallucinogens and watch the bold and the beautiful till it kicks in. Then crack a few beers and get out the old keyboard, its time to start blogging.

Pat and you say Spanish women are complicated, look at all that you have to do to blog.

Yeah but I have to do all that before washing the dishes or mowing the lawn.

Ish strange that we have not seen a comment from the bloggers who post without allowing comments ..
Or those who receive a single negative comment and quickly delete it or remove the whole blog...
I would be interested to understand the mindset involved there..

Blue, I would love to know also maybe they post their own blog and explain it as I don't think they will come on this one. They are welcome to do so.

And also the ones that go completly off topic with a long winded rant about their own personal crusade..
