Would you like a cup of tea?

and would you let me watch you making it?

My office closed the other day and amongst the 'goodies' we shared out I got a large supply of office-type teabags. I decided to try making a cup of tea this morning.

It tasted fairly horrible. Is there a knack to making tea? Can anyone talk me through it? Yes yes add boiling water but - for how long? When does that soggy sad little lump get removed? Is a teapot better?

dunno

Imback wow that sounds like a lot of work for someone who drinks instant coffee but okay, thanks writing

Boiling the milk too? Okay!

I think taking the bag out after 8 seconds may have been part of my problem. idea

Mimi, how can you even ask! All three!!!!

(Mimi, loved your blog, liked the song (didn't expect to) and that story about Peg Entwhistle, never heard it before. The irony of that offer being held up in the post, wow.)

Funny, always thought you were a through-and-through coffee man!
Luke, I do wonder who nabbed the 2 office-size coffee containers

what a swizz, eh?
Red, go for it, I also commented on her blog here laugh

So tea is the drink for people with time on their hands (at least 3 minutes, anyway). Got it! banana banana
I drink tea all the time, no coffee.

I like it strong though
Molly, you're a famed tea drinker, but yup these ones are just regular tea leaves. sigh
Yes I'm coffee to. I don't make hot tea often I do enjoy herbal tea and homemade iced tea. Coffee sweetener and cream. The best cup is in the morning the first fresh cup. And while " he" is getting his coffee I do my happy coffee dance! Ah but of course there's no " he" so I skip the coffee dance. I'm a bit on the goofy side. Not cracking up just like to have a little fun.coffee dancing

once had guests I knew liked rooibos tea so I made that for them, they looked a little unenthusiastic about the pink brew - about 10 minutes later I said oh this tea will be stewed by now, I'll make fresh

No, no, they said eagerly, and happily drank the extremely dark red liquid. Tastes bitter to me when it has stewed for too long? confused
Mimi, there's a good little bakery about 4 doors from my future house laugh are we going to hunt for the best or the most convenient?
Jao, haha, I like goofy!

And glad to hear I'm not the only coffee dancer uh oh do you get odd looks too? grin

hello, i like to dip the bag until i get the color i want you can determine the color by tasting. once you know the color you like, you're good for future cups. this varies depending on the tea. i love saffron tea.

Imba, I much prefer tea leaves.

But tea bags are more convenient at work, etc.

No comparison in taste though thumbs up
Put 3 sugars in, but dont stir it.
Alterboysan, not sure I can do all of that without collapsing into helpless giggles. I will try to make them geisha-style giggles grin

Yup, redundant, send tickets but I may sell them on eBay so not sure who will actually arrive, would that be a problem? I will brief them fully on the tea-making ceremony first laugh
i see a tea-off between Molly and Jim, brewing.
Molly

I have never tried with leaves...but I m sure that will be special .

I do try it will mint leaves sometimes...without cream.

angel
Molly, between you and Mimi I can see a cookbook coming up. She'll need to do the videos since the blurring as you whisk through the directions could puzzle some buyers.

Let me know if you need any marketing ideas. I'm a WHIZZ. liar rolling on the floor laughing
Jj and Molly

Are having a ping-pong matchconversing
Any unlucky woman I send plane tickets to will be wise to immediately place them on Ebay. Extremely wise. Aa.
Mimi

I was not expecting such a romance with tea making.

Thanks for the master piece shareinnocent
Biff, there are many different teas. if you don't like one, you may like the other. when i quit drinking, i bought a million types to try. ginger tea is very potent and you don't want to steep it too long.
Biff

You are so kindhug

Molly
