Fractal Generator: The Mandelbrot Set....NOT Your Average Blog!

Video link/s to the famous Mandelbrot Set - To Some of the Highest Levels of Detail Ever Recorded! (i.e the most Iterations)...

The Mandelbrot Set was discovered (mathematically) by Benoit Mandelbrot, (in 1980).

To Infinity, and Beyond? (At the Microscopic Level)?

This would seem to suggest Infinity is possible in the reverse direction (Think Zeno's Paradox). It is all a matter of scale. To think in this way; is to understand how the Big Bang could have come from an Infinitely Small Singularity. In fact, all of the Cosmological Evidence (background radiation) would seem to point toward the veracity of this statement.......

To Infinity, and Beyond? (At the Macroscopic Level)?

Consider this, now, from the Reverse Point of View: Since the MS is Infinite in one direction; then why not the other way around? Likewise, this would seem to suggest that the Universe is Infinite at Vast Scales; which the human mind cannot process; and indeed fits the Mathematical Definition of Genuine Infinity....(there are various interpretations of this).......

Here the Argand Plane is used:

The x-axis (horizontal) represents the Real Numbers;
(as in a Cartesian standard graph)

The y-axis (vertical) represents the Imaginary Numbers;
(designated the iy axis);

where i = (-1)^1/2 = {the square root of (-1)}

Therefore, any Complex Number z can be written in the form:

z = a + ib

For any point (a,ib) on the Complex Plane.

The Real part of the Complex Number z is written:

Re(z) = a

The Imaginary part of the Complex Number z is written:

Im(z) = b

The iterative function f(z) For the Mandelbrot Set is:

f(z) = z^2 + C (for any complex constant C)

On the Argand plane (x, iy) axis.

(Start with z = 0)

Fractals at ANY level of magnification will produce self-similar but NOT Identical Patterns (generated by the information contained in the Original Set)....

Everything in Nature is Fractal; (The classic example would be a snowflake) - they are all indeed different, yet superficially the same; due to their self-similarity. Other examples would include leaves on a tree, and forks of lightning....

The Universe itself, is Fractal/Chaotic

This is why (mathematically) these Fractal Sets are very significant and important to study...

The Mandelbrot Set is probably the most famous fractal set; although there are many others (depending on the mathematical parameters chosen, and, of course, the initial function)...

These are the Link/s (below):

There are higher levels of Magnification (Iterations) available, like this one:

The final image, here, is Magnified to 10^4004 (10 to the power of 4004). That is to say, a phenominally Large Number.

Or in other words, the number 10, with 4004 zeros after it! - (or 400,000 Iterations).

Only to get to a "typical" MS motif at the end......(Completely Mind Blowing!)

And two 3D ones for Enthusiasts:

(These are usually based on a 4D form of Complex Numbers called Quaternions)

I really recommend this one..

And...

The math is further explained, here (for those interested in more detail)...

Btw, I'm Not trying to show off here, I just find the Mandelbrot Set (and Fractals, in general) to be F..king Amazing!.......

THE MALTESE HOOLIGAN

You may have heard of the Maltese Cross, but do you know what made the Maltese cross?
One day a creature was born. Probably a bastard child. Possibly an alien hybrid. Brought up without parental control and consequently became a menace to society. It swears all the time and finds fun in its abusive behaviour. It tries to evade identification by regularly changing its name and avoids being photographed. The Maltese people are very cross and refer to this creature as the Maltese Hooligan.

They seek him here
They seek him there
The Maltese Hooligan is everywhere
He hides his face
In complete disgrace
And changes his name
To come back again
For he swears a lot
Does this idiot
Full of abuse
Which does not amuse
But his end will come
And soon will be done
So Malta can rejoice again
When rid of this Hooligan.

Watch out for this creature recognised by persistent swearing and abuse. A faceless alien hybrid with the ability to regularly change identity and even acquire another's photo to try to be authentic.

Would you date somebody that is less than half your age...

that you are not exactly attracted to, but they just threw themselves at you?

Let's set some parameters. You are hitting an older age where you know you are not getting exactly younger.

The person, seems to be very mature and well grounded.

You are very good friends.

You have been single for over 10 years and the idea of adding someone to your life is a bit scary.

Their mom and dad is younger than you.

There are so many more. I think the best response, especially after having a couple of drinks was to say, I am flattered...and give her a hug.

dunno

Another parameter...you know there are some other people interested in you...but they are in a relationship, married...and have never come out and said anything...but you know their behavior around you speaks volumes. They are people you are attracted to....

So...how do you do the dance here

Hulk Hogan ‘paralysed from the waist down’ after undergoing 11th back surgery

It's sad to read about this. I know Hulk Hogan has had a bad problem with his health over the years. I was a huge fan of his and Rowdy Roddy Piper.

Hulk Hogan is reportedly paralysed from the waist down after undergoing the 11th back surgery of his career.

The wrestler, 69, has been candid in the past about the amount his body has been put through during the course of his illustrious 35-year wrestling career.

Now, his friend Kurt Angle, has claimed in a podcast that the star – real name Terry Bollea – has lost feeling in his lower body and is forced to walk with a cane.

According to Angle, Hogan underwent an unknown procedure in which nerves from his back were removed. No further details were shared of the operation and it remains to be seen whether he will ever recover the feelings in his legs, or if it is permanent.

He said: “He had the nerves cut from his lower body, he can’t feel his lower body. So, he has to use his cane to walk around.

“I thought he was using the cane because he has pain in his back. He doesn’t have any pain, he has nothing at all. He can’t feel anything.”

He continued: “So now he can’t feel his legs. So he has to walk with a cane which is, you know, that’s pretty serious, man.”

In 2021, Hogan admitted to having required a lot of medical attention over the years, saying: “My knees are fake, hips are fake, back is full of metal and part of my face is full of metal.”

The Standard has contacted a representative for Hulk Hogan for comment.

Hulk's back... or is that Hulk is back?

Terry Gene Bollea aka Hulk Hogan was in the news the other day about being paralyzed from the waist down due to recent back surgery. This morning I see another story that a representative for the retired wrestler says he's not paralyzed.
Publicity stunt or misinformation?

Little known fact... Hogan plays guitar (and bass) and has appeared on a few public appearances and music videos!

Have you ever dated…

Since becoming a CSer, I’ve been asked by quite a few ‘candidates’ whether I’d ever dated/been with a ‘white’ guy before. After answering them, I'd usually counter with “Have you ever dated/been with a ‘black’ woman before”? However, whether the answers I received varied or not, the answer that I gave didn’t. It was always “No, I haven’t”. And, at first I wondered why such a thing should matter. After all, even though it’s important what he looked like, I was more concerned about what he was like on the inside.

Why should that matter? For the same reason that any other question is posed on any other topic – age, height, weight, physicality, religion/spirituality, etc – it’s an obvious CONCERN.

Why would one ask about something like dating a white/asian/black/hispanic/other, if there weren’t concerns about compatibility? I’ve reasoned that perhaps some socio-cultural and religious differences, ascribed to each group, may be deterrents. For example, lore (and maybe Science alsogiggle) has it that black men are better ‘endowed’ than white men, so that if a woman who has only ever dated black men begins dating a white one, he would have concerns about her expectations of him, sexually.

Yet another concern may be food and music. White food preferences vs Black food preferences – bland vs well-seasoned, flavourful and somewhat spicy. Rock, pop, classical and country vs jazz, rhythm & blues, hip-hop and funk. Perhaps at a younger age before marriage (the first one, at leastsmile), aspects within those realms could significantly affect compatibility, but I could only guess at why these would matter at age 55 and up. hmmm

There are lots of things that I haven’t tried yet; some aren’t worth the risk (physically), and others aren't worth the money. But, there are still some things that are worth trying now that I’m older, and have the emotional strength and independence it takes to ‘live’ by the possible consequences of choices that may not pan out. So, the very next time that I’m asked that question, I’m resolved to answer, “Not yet, but you can be my first”.grin wink

HAREM GOSSIP 4

A while ago I asked my harem, known as Crown affair cheerleaders, to undergo challenges to reduce their numbers from 18 to 12. The best and most successful would stay on. Well they were impressive and now I have the more manageable number. The 6 who left were downcast, but I said that if the remaining 12 failed in anyway, I would call on them.
I now enjoy a spectacle every day of a wide variety of dancing. Belly dance is my favourite and when I am resting on my sofa and being fed grapes by two of the best looking ladies, I am happy and content. Sometimes it is uncomfortable with the ladies sitting on each leg and kissing me passionately, but I still manage to glimpse the dancing. Tiresome I know, but they're worth it.

FOOD THAT KILLS YOU SLOWLY

Chronic illness and disease is mainly the result of a person's lifestyle. You can't catch these illnesses, or be vaccinated against them. They are self inflicted by the type of lifestyle we adopt from when we are born. Processed foods, high fat intake, white sugar, white flour, excess of salt. High blood pressure, diabetes are examples that are treated with drugs produced by the pharmaceutical industry who make huge profits on our dependence on their products.
Doctors prescribe pills and medicine without considering the cause of illness. They treat the symptoms and then get rid of you. Doctors have virtually no training in nutrition and we probably have more knowledge than them.
The best way to change lifestyle is to switch to plant based foods and control your weight together with exercise.
Introducing children to junk food as a treat is starting them on the path to ill health in the future.

IRANIAN HEAD SCARFS

Well, the women of Iran have shown what they feel about wearing head scarfs. Swinging them round in front of officials. That shows that they don't accept any reason for wearing the covering and that it should be voluntary if some women desire it.
How backward the Iranian government is. How uncivilised those officials are.
But in my country loads of women wear them and without compulsion. But are they pressured from within their own community?
