Alzheimer's disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States per the latest report from Google.
There's about 3,000 cases reported each year in the US alone according to the same report.
It's a very difficult burden for the family of the afflicted and a very costly expense for medical insurance.
A friend of mine is going through this enormous responsibility for her 85 year old mother and I am helping her cope up with it.
There's so much to learn specially on the strong possibility of preventing it by taking care of our body specially eating the right foods.
Green vegetables, lots of fruits specially bkackberry, strawberries, red and blue berries.
A cup of red wine each day helps, too. Unfortunately I don't drink wine or alcohol, so I can't have that.
Nuts, fish, and avoid butter, cheese, margarine and not too much red meat.
Exercise is also a very important aspect in our daily lives in order to maximize the chance of prevention.
I'm still reading a lot about it and hopefully, I will not be afflicted early and spare my children the burden.
I wish I would just die before that happens.
Thanks for your read and comments if any.
Have a nice Monday everyone.
Fauci is the guy who attended several White House meetings where he told America we needed more testing, testing, testing. Three months later, we have the testing and some people are befuddled that more testing reveals additional positive cases of COVID-19.
This weekend I talked with a guy who made it sound like testing was the culprit. My response (to him) was testing doesn't create more virus. Why would you think that?
He was of the opinion that we didn't need so much testing as the numbers were significantly going up! Well duh. Now we have the tools/means to get more accurate findings of asymptomatic cases who could spread the virus without knowing it.
I shouldn't have to tell you this as we all hear it from nearly every news source as it comes from the White House.

Reading this doggie home health tome, mostly for knowing Bravo better, and seeing the differences betwen species out of curiosity. Next will read a cat one, then perhaps the spider medical book. Almost done, and they are discussing assisting in puppy births. Should have thunk it, but as vets do all sorts of surgery, why be surprised that they do CS's? Got me thinking for another blog/forum. Each, of course, has it's place, and both have life saving benefits, along with real risks. Our twins were CS's born, but mom was high risk for being very athletic, but in mid forties.
Due to bad weather (continuous raining ). I am not feeling well since evening .. I am sick. .

That they are too old to do something
My friends elderly parents he's 82 and she's 75
He is in the early to medium stages of dementia and she's not far behind
He's had his drivers licence taken off him as he can't walk without a stick can't turn his head or concentrate enough to hold a 20 second conversation.
Last week his wife woke to a phone call at 6.30am from the night watchman at the Dr's where he had a 10.30am appointment the following day, saying he was beating on the door wanting to be let in.
He had managed to get up,back the car out and make a 40 min car journey in the dark without headlights
Yet he had left the car running in the car park because he couldn't remember how to turn it off or take the keys out.
Now the wife has to hide the keys and lock them both in the house at night
............after 110 days of either being in a hospital or a nursing home, today I am going home.
I know some people like a certain Irish woman couldn't "give a shit" about this, but still this is a day for me to celebrate.
Having a leg amputated has altered my lifestyle quite a bit. It hasn't altered my attitude or my spirit. Thanks to all who have been kind and understanding. Pity to those who were not.
I leave you with a song:
The Official Lie is Collapsing.
This isn't shouted denials from a puffed-up, retired teacher, nor the sneering of a long-time dweller of the People's Republic of China, or any other yapping Denialist. This is what a frontline nurse is seeing every day, and it isn't what you're hearing from Fauci, and it isn't what you are seeing from the Luegenpresse.
"So this is what I do. I do dialysis on patients in the hospital. You can guess where I’m at…
COVID positive hospital floor, completely full. All fully vaccinated patients.
I hate my job today. Not wanting to do this again this year. Last year sucked. It was the worst year ever in health care. Pray for your health care workers again. We ain’t trying to do this again. Love y’all.” – COVID Floor Nurse
