How Does Your Garden Grow?

That time of year and we've gone from a cold, miserable April to a hot May and everything that was slow to grow has all of a sudden burst into new growth. Flowers everywhere, piggy backing on each other, scenting the air with their sweet fragrance.

Rhododendrons and azaleas are now blooming along with the lilacs and wisteria. The petunias I planted a few days ago are thriving and their subtle perfume greets me every time I walk out the front door. I've finally gotten pots for the geraniums, and planted those today, along with the rest of the marigolds. I think I need another pot so the marigolds aren't crammed in together, and I'll get one tomorrow on my way home from the US.

The marigolds are great mosquito deterrents so I've placed them around the perimeter of my patio. I'd have planted them in the garden except there's so much ground cover in there and it's not going to be a simple matter of just pulling it out. I'm going to have to cut it off then dig out the roots.

My tomatoes are planted, their cages already in the pots, unlike last year when I waited too long and had a heck of time getting the cages around them. I found both hose nozzles which is quite a feat for me. If, and it's a big if, I can get the ground cover out of the garden, I'll plant some veggies. My neighbour said her son would come and take my bushes, which would be awesome!

I'm so excited today, my Peace rose is blooming already! It doesn't usually bloom until mid-summer, and I've already cut three roses off it for my bedroom. I absolutely adore the fragrance of roses.

My neighbour brought my bike over this afternoon and I was going to go to Harrison Mills for a bike ride, but someone posted photos of it flooded, so I'll forego that for awhile.

It's such a beautiful bike ride, with a short ride curving to the north east along the river towards the bridge.

If you cross the train tracks and skirt the old mill, the dike to the southeast goes a long, long way, and the views are spectacular! The following photo is looking back towards the train bridge.

Back home and before the river has risen to it's current high level and standing on the river bed, the blue hour mesmerizes me.

And, without realizing it, the full moon has highlighted the mountain and area behind me.

I love this time of year with all the new growth and getting my hands in the dirt. There's something very therapeutic about gardening. heart beating

I'm Mrs Scrooge

... and I like it.

All this Christmas circus, hypocrisy and consumerism.... makes me sick, lock my door and close the shutters.
.... and adding the nonsense called *waiting for the New Year.....

....... no, it's not me - crazy is the world.

When I feel like helping or giving presents, I don't wait for Christmas, or birthday, or whatever the numbers of the calendar.

The crowd festivities, never makes me happy.

WARNING FOR THE UNDEAD

I have just attended my own wake!

Walking into the coffee bar this afternoon the entire bar stared at me, I thought I had shit on my shirt or something, Then I was told I had died yesterday and that my family were outside drinking at my wake.

Although I'm very stiff, I assured everyone that in fact I was not dead at all, but accepted a drink to celebrate my resurrection.

Turns out another Englishman in my town passed away yesterday.

However, attending my own wake felt special until news of me being undead spread and the free drinks ended.
(This is 100% true)

Lets celebrate being undead cheers

Diabetes.....

It is a good idea to become familiar with the early warning signs of Diabetes. Here are some warning signs of Diabetes:

being very thirsty
urinating frequently
feeling very hungry or tired
losing feeling in your feet or having tingling in your feet
having blurry eyesight
bladder, kidney, skin, or other infections that are more frequent or heal more slowly
having dry, itchy skin
erectile disfunction.,....................... ,.......... ................... ... over a long period of time causes the following damage:

Eye Retina. Damage to the eye retina from diabetes is a leading cause of blindness.
Kidney Failure. Damage to the kidneys from diabetes is a leading cause of kidney failure. See also Kidney Health, Red Blood Cell Production and Peak Athlete Performance
Nerve Damage. Damage to the nerves from diabetes is a leading cause of foot wounds and ulcers, which frequently lead to foot and leg amputations
Damage to Autonomic Nervous System. Damage to the nerves in the autonomic nervous system can lead to paralysis of the stomach, chronic diarrhea, and an inability to control heart rate and blood pressure during postural changes.
s*xual Dysfunction. Diabetes causes significant loss of healthy erectile function.
Damage to Cardio Vascular System. Diabetes predisposes people to high blood pressure and poor circulation.
Impaired Immune System. Many infections are associated with diabetes, and infections are frequently more dangerous in someone with diabetes because the body's normal ability to fight infections is impaired
Diminished Mental Capacity. As glucose is the sole source of fuel for brain cells, there is growing and logical evidence that Dementia and Alzheimers may be cuased by Pre-Diabetes and Diabetes.
Skin Infections. People with Diabetes are more likely to get skin infections caused by fungus and bacteria. This is because some fungus and bacteria feed off glucose. Also, high blood glucose levels make the body's natural defenses less effective...... .... ... ...

"GET A SECOND OPINION"(LINDA DIDNT)(2)

This more of advice than anything alse...Im not writing this for attention or anything else..just dont want anyone to make this mistake as Linda did..........A while back I did a story on "Get a Second Opinion,Linda didnt".......The reason why I write this is a lot of people will go to a Doctor for a possible Cancer Screening (Nobody wants to even have to get to that point to have to do that)But it has to be done......If your lucky the Doctor tells you..."Your test came back Negative".."You are Cancer Free".....Please go and get a Second opinion......The only time people will want to get a second opinion is when theyre told they have Cancer(In most cases)....Even if you are told you dont have Cancer..Get that second opinion....It could Possibly save your Life......It took a Year for the cancer that she had in the first place to re emerge (And then it was too late)The Doctor sais that if it was correctly detected the 1st time ..It possibly couldve been eradicated then or at the least added 10-15 years more to her life....To think if she did that...This aint happening.........Because of no 2nd opinion...Linda is lying in a Hospice now....Shes shrunk down to where her head seems to be too big for her frame....65 Pounds...No strength to even move anymore....Her hair is an inch long at best.....It takes all I have not to break down as I sit there holding her hand as her eyes are fixed on an object on the wall and they dont move at all.......LInda called me her big Brother as she was adopted so I have to be there for my little "Sister" at the end.....Isnt this just wonderful with Christmas right around the corner!!?.....Have to go see her everyday now til the end comes...And soon enough...She will be gone forever......(Merry Christmas Nam)........Get a Second or Third opinion!!!!!!!!!!!......Poor Linda didnt.......sad flower

Work Restricted

I see a blog regarding working from
The home place as opposed to pre
Covid.
My own thoughts would be if you can
You should. It is going to be a long road
Back for our Economy, as well as for
Others.
I am not working, the hotel that has my
Employment is closed indefinitely but
My job is safe. My hours probably will
Be less. I will be okay.
In lreland the restrictions are starting
To be eased. Hopefully, not too soon.
There is pressure on governments
Now as people are struggling and
Also the fine weather which is a bigger
Test now.
