Machinist problem

So here is this little issue I am struggling with. Who knows, maybe someone here has the skills needed..

I have been trying to make some custom 6x32 tpi bolts for an old Belgian Bulldog revolver (about 1880ish). The original bolt bodies (frame mounted) are full of corrosion pits on the shaft and also someone without the right tools had managed to burr the screw heads at some point in the past.

The bolts are tiny and under magnification I suspect the threads were cut by hand. Just a tad under a #6 in size about 0.62 long. 3 of them. So I retapped the right side holes in the frame to #6x32. That was the easy part.

Only the bottom .197" has threads. Then the body has a smooth 1/8" shaft with a screw head size of 0.15".

I am using a steel 3/16" rod. I can usually get things down to about 0.155" before problems begin. When I use a steady rest (or a drill chuck in the tail stock) somewhere around .135" either the rod begins to bow or (worse) it just snaps in two. If I loosen the rest naturally the rod bends.

I know it can be done and hopefully without simply using just a file and sandpaper (which would probably take longer than I have years left).

I am using an HSS cutter which is giving a decent finish so I am confident I am okay there, but how to stabilize things so the rod doesn't snap or bow under cutter pressure remains the problem.

Yes, if I owned a monster press I could maybe swage it through a hole. But I don't have that.

I am of course also looking forward to the idea of putting threads on a part that tiny.

Open for solutions.., confused

Mildred the church gossip

Mildred, the church gossip, and self-appointed monitor of the church's morals,
kept sticking her nose into other people's business.
Several members did not approve of her extra-curricular activities,
but feared her enough to maintain their silence.

She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic
after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon.
She emphatically told George and several others that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing. George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned and walked away.
He didn't explain, defend, or deny. He said nothing.

Later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred's house............. and left it there all night.

I wonder if Mildred still gossips rolling on the floor laughing

Coming up with ideas

I moved from one city 100 miles south to another city about two months ago. I actually moved to the town of my birth on the gulf of Mexico coast line.

I love my place, it's even located in my old neighborhood and the community has many of my friends from 40 years ago. I'm off track. Yesterday I drove back to Orlando, the town I just left to see an old friend and then to go out to a fine dinner with my co-workers last night. It was wonderful.

When asked how I'm doing, I said everything is falling into place with the exception that I haven't figured out what volunterring I wanted to do yet. Next thing I know the boss said while I'm trying to figure it out to go ahead and figure out what the company should do like for the holidays. We always take on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter sponsorship to hardships.

Well rats if I can't figure out what I want to do why would you make me have to figure out a larger problem on the same scale? Challenge accepted. ugh

Ideas for me in one city and ideas for a group in another. I'm pretty thankful for Google about now.

So I gained weight

I work from home since Covid started, kitchen is just right beside my working space. I don't run out of snacks and drinks while I'm working.

I've been trying to lose some weight since the beginning of this year but during Ramadan month, I cooked a lot and plenty of food in every gatherings I went to.
currently weighs 127 lbs, I want to shed 15- 20lbs, I'm 5'2' and was 110lb before Covid. I want to go back to that.

I'm aiming to lose 5 lbs/week, might be too much but it's a challenge, I think I can do it.

notes.
5/4/22 18:28 = 127 lbs ( after BBQ party, 1.5 blueberry donuts and 1 cup of cappuccino)

Oh, no........

....not THAT!
'Standing' apparently is a big issue in whether any court recognizes a given petition to consider a matter. For example, even though I am the truly GREAT Vierk, incarnate, the SCOTUS is unlikely to listen to me. Unfathomable, I know. And perhaps in spite of the growing hard evidence of a stolen election, it may not even listen to my sweetheart, Attorney Sidney long legs. Legs right up to THERE!
But we just now hear that the STATE of Texas formally is filing suit against several swing states, with the SCOTUS, for election irregularities, and vote disenfranchisement.
Now, this seems to be one petition to the nation's highest judicial body, that it can't ignore.
Be inaresting to see the comments of the few full syndromics here on CS, with this latest news.
Sort of pushes the matter into the realm of treason and sedition. As evidenced by, the modems and other parts of the Dumbminion vote machines, are produced by front organization of the Red Chinese CP. The plot thickens.
Biden crime family and China. Ya think? Shocking? Not surprising, though.

Hey Clarence...

I was reading a bunch of comments for and against the recent Supreme Court decision to overturn a law that's been around nearly 50 years and of the comments, one asked 'what's next?' What other laws do they want to overturn?

Several were aimed at Clarence Thomas, where one reader stated: "He’s been quiet for 30 years, now he’s become unleashed, like the Frankenstein monster, and wants to legislate from the bench. Character always reveals itself, eventually." (20 likes, 0 dislikes)

There's more: "Wonder why Uncle Clarence is not revisiting the Loving case ?
Loving v. Virginia a Supreme Court case that struck down state laws banning interracial marriage in the United States." (29 likes, 6 dislikes)
Another similar comment: "I wonder when Thomas will suggest overturning Loving vs. Virginia? Now that will be ironic!!" (14 likes, 3 dislikes)

It looks like Clarence isn't very popular this week.

Love

Some find love and then lose it.

Some search their whole lives and never find it.

Some find it many times with different people.

Me. I've found it. And I'm loving it.

I'm quite satisfied.

Don't waste your passion being jealous ! scold

That won't help you.

You really can find it too.

Grab a piece and enjoy it to the fullest.

I'm too clever for them

The scammers on this site aren't so smart. They try their hardest to get my email address out of me, but without success. Yet I have not the slightest difficulty in getting hold of theirs. drinking
