could you live in a van ???

this is not a new craze , but it has grown in popularity , and i dont mean the people who actually fake that they live in a van as there are many out there that do fake it,
but could you see yourself giving up your home comforts for life in a van ,,i can see the plus side to short term van life ,,like escaping the winter months for a warmer climate , or for taking a extended long holiday ,
so it has a few pluses but also a few negatives, and as i live in the balkans then the pluses out weigh the negatives for me ,,
taking a shower and the like are so easy as most service areas provide clean and cheap showers ...
and also the fact if you find a place that you like you can stay as long as you wish ,
so what would be the draw backs for you folks out there ,, and could you see yourself doing this ????

I've just bought myself

a very tasty doughnut wow

Its 9.30 in the morning here and I have become quite vexed as to what time is best to enjoy such a fine pastry..
Would it be best had with tea at 11.
After soup at 1.
Or with evening coffee while watching the news at 6 dunno

Such decisions are hard to make on an empty stomach sigh

Kind humans

What forces me to survive, sometimes when I don’t want to? The amazing things I’ve experienced. Some would call it God, guardian angels, magic or random. Whatever the case may be, I have experienced negative things and in most times, a kind human has been arms length for a hug.

Tonight I called my reliable colleague for some bodily exchanges. I’ve been under a lot of stress.

After our exchange I went into the kitchen for coffee. It was then that I discovered my Dove cat, dead. My colleague was very comforting. Like a real friend should be. Giving me instructions and offering to help or do all. I’m thankful that once again, a kind human was in arms length

Ps. This is a true story like a few hours ago.

Kin

The beach where sticks and stones don’t break hearts
Make love with waves of salt and sea
Bring forth good memories
Of a visit most importantly family
Though far away not distant in heart’s memory
I love you all eternally

Windshield versus a windscreen...

Before I could (legally) drive a car I was in love with the Austin Mini Cooper. My brother and I went to Speedway Park to see some races. Typically they were American muscle cars, but one race was for the mini series. I was blown-away by their high performance.
I ordered a photo book with specifications of makes and models of the minicar series as they had a few manufacturers and lots of different body style.

That's when I learned names of parts to cars were very different in the United Kingdom than in the United States. First off, tires are tyres, hood is bonnet, trunk is boot and the think that confused me the most is the front glass.
In America, it's called a windshield. In Europe, it's a windscreen.

We are talking about wind... I have screens on the windows in my house. They are there to allow air to pass and screen out bugs and often dust or leaves when it's really windy.

My boss has a secretary who answers the phone calls and screens ones of people he's not interested in talking to. Screen... some calls can pass through.

Roman soldiers had wooden shields that were used to protect themselves from the swords of their enemies in combat. Shield... block the attack.

By definition, a windshield is designed to block the wind. That would mean a windscreen is designed to allow some wind to pass.
Are you kidding me??

For your consideration

Trolling is not exclusive to CS. Anyone who’s been on FB knows trolls are alive and well. In addition, trolls pop their heads out while shopping and in daily activity.

I am grateful that the online world allows bitter, hateful people to express their illness on a format that is easily dismissed with a button.

It is far more difficult to ignore, escape or retaliate against abuse in person. I come from retail and, baby, people can be insensitive, and hateful, with free rein. Employees are evaluated on performance and are paid, although poorly, to put up with crap with a big shit eating smile.

Fiery crash on the highway...

I'm surprised to see the clarity of highway cameras. In the video below a car loses control entering a highway and slams into a box truck heading for an overpass. The truck hits the rail that retains the vehicle from going over the edge but the bursts into flames (like a Hollywood movie) billowing black smoke until (about 8 minutes later) the emergency fire truck arrives to cool things down.

The Phenomena of Tailgaters!

I drive about 32 miles one way to get to work. On Saturday I do my food shopping and on Sunday I visit my kids.

In Southern California that isn't considered a lot of driving. But the phenomena of tailgaters just seems to be just as wretched as if I was always on the road. Needless to say it just chaps my hide to continually be "tailsmooched" by some driver be it a man or a woman from teenagers to old geezers!

I have decided that they are here to stay so in fun I have categorized them. Here they are so just have a good laugh!

Teenage Girl

She will always be driving a Neon or a Soul. They will be driving fast and they tailgate you extremely close albeit for a few seconds or so. This tailgater is in a rush to get someplace so she'll also swerve from lane to lane just to get to her destination. But it doesn't matter how fast she thinks she's moving because the traffic signal will always get her! When you arrive next to her she's hunkered over the steering wheel just biting the bit for that dang green light to come on and then speeding away tailgating and swerving.

Teenage Boy

He will drive a Mustang, some altered Honda or a pickup with hug wheels and those bright white Halogen headlights that bear down on your neck because the pickup is real high. Again, driving fast and as they approach you they will stay on your tail "smooching" it but they will stay there and harass you to get you to speed up. When they don't get their way they will pass you an honk at you also giving you the one finger salute! They too will get stopped at the red light and speeding away as soon as the light turns green. They don't swerve but they speed headlong in a straight shot!

Woman

The strangest of all tailgaters. She will be driving a van or SUV. She doesn't speed or act stupid. She will stay pinned to your tail "smooching" it for miles EVEN IF you 2 are the only ones on the road. But in traffic, too. She won't go around you and when you tap your brake to let her know your feeling uncomfortable she will eventually pass you and look at you wondering why your acting so strange in this completely puzzled look! She's totally oblivious to the fact she's tailgating you.

Man

This tailgater just wants to be a jerk. If you slow down to make him go around he'll just begin feigning a rear end smacking. As if the tail "smooching" wasn't bad enough. He'll be driving a high end car like a Mercedes or a Lexus but sometimes a restored car. When he finally gets tired of playing Rambo he whips around you and tries to stare you down like he's "ready to rumble"!!!! He still thinks he a pimply faced hot rodder full of estrogen!

OK, give me your comments and fav's. I know there are some tail gater's that also chap your hide!!

A Plain New Tesla

My AT friend bought a new tesla years ago and waited over a year for the Tesla dealership to get it in. By the time her new car arrived that same car was selling for a heck of a lot more than she paid for it. It was a fancy car with all the bells and whistles with much of it is controlled by the phone. Only the back doors go up in the air over the car roof when you open them. I live on the east coast and she moved to the west coast without any problems. Starbuck has charging stations everywhere plus the car tells you where the charging stations are.

My ex came into town a few weeks ago, took me out to lunch to tell me he is looking to buy a Tesla but he wanted to check out another brand of electric car first. It was great seeing him which I got to do because the Tesla dealership is just a few blocks from my home.

The ex came to town the other day, called and said he wanted to take me to lunch again. I was okay with that so he came with a friend who drove him down from Ocala and they picked my up in his new Tesla. He got the very basic model which only has a huge computer monitor screen in the middle with no other buttons or switches anywhere. No "Oh shit" handle, no radio (You play it through the phone) virtually nothing but a huge flat dashboard. In the restaurant he was looking at how to start the AC in the hot FLORIDA car from inside while we ate. When we left we stood outside the car while he tried to figure out how to open the door. A comedy moment.

Last night we were talking and after all the research that man did before buying that $40,000 car was what happened to his insurance rates. He was told they would go up a little but the lowest quote so far is $2,000 every six months. $4,000 a year is an extremely harsh toke. What a blindside.
