navygirl1: Honestly, never gave it much thought. Whether I beleive in God or not isn't going to change who I am. I like to help charities, try to be a good person and not hold grudges. I don't need to pray to God to forgive me for my sins, I need to forgive myself and just learn not to make the same mistakes.

Same here, have done so much for charities and people over the years, because I want to and think it is necessary to give others a chance in life. Religion has never been apart of this, just because I can and will continue to do so, for it is one of the many purposes in my life.
I can obviously only speak for myself. I am Irish.Born and raised in a strong Catholic faith. As a child I was a big believer in Jesus, but back then I had no reason not to be. I believed what my parents told me, just like Santa Claus or The Tooth Fairy. I no reason to question them. However as I grew up and learned about science, logic and reason, I began to question my own faith and faith in general. I studies Theology & Philosophy at Trinity College, Dublin.
I discovered things there, which for some reason were not common knowledge. Obviously kept hidden from the masses by the main churches.. Christian,Jewish & Muslim.
I learned about 'Gods' thaat pre-dated the God of Abraham, (also the Christian & Muslim God) by thousands of years. For instance, the Egyptian God - Horus. He was born of a virgin on December 25th, Began his ministry at age 30, had 12 desciples, died by crucifiction and rose from the dead after 3 days. Sound familiar? That was 3000 B.C
A lot of early gods share these attributes; Mythra, the Roman God, Krisna, the Hindu God... I could go on. I discovered that all of these stories were just ways for early man to explain the movements of the Sun and the Stars.
For instance - On December 25th, the sun rises in the constelation 'Virgo' (Born of a Virgin) On that day the che configeration is followed by the 3 stars the southern cross of of Orions belt (Followed by 3 Kings) on December 22nd, the shortest day of the year, the sun stops moving to the naked eye until December 25th. (the son died on the cross and rose again after 3 days)
There are plenty of books on these and other subjects, if you want to find out more. Obviosly Evolution has a big part to play in peoples loss of faith. If you cannot believe in the 1st book of the Bible, how are you expected to believe in the rest?
Dont let the hostiles bother you, just give as good as you get
RillyNiceGuy: Satan is the God of this world....all things wrong are of him and of man who has followed his ways.
Some even pray to God and get no reply! God does not hear the prayers of sinners. To make all things right for one who is disobeient is to make rightousness and grace a joke.
My friend if you find God and believe, repent, have the Holy Spirit, keep the commandments under grace....God will hear your prayers and rewards those who seek him......all others are outside and will recieve nothing.
Don't blame God for your misunderstanding and being outside of grace. He is not the maker of your troubles....never has been.
But with knowledge you will find him merciful and giving ALL a fair chance to obtain salvation.
Satan? Seriously? I would like to ask where you learned all of this stuff? Please do not simplt say "The Scriptures", because all faiths and indeed individuals have their own interpritation of The Bible. You seem to be in a fear mongering kind of faith."all others are outside and will recieve nothing".. On whose authority do you say these things? Please do NOT say "God's Authority". That is lame answer given by every ministry of every faith. What makes your church the right church? I am very curious!
so you see, after all this crazy goings on, a new phallus was made that ended up giving birth to horace. Not a virgin birth at all, allthough the God who supposedly gave birth to horace was called "the Virgin God", she was not a virgin at all. Furthermore, there was not even a single living being envolved in this. These were tales of spiritual beings who lived thier lives like trailor trash.
its the same with mithra and all of the other stories the liars try and convince us that Christianity stole from. The people who tell these tales are not believers in God and lie to you in hopes that you wont do any research on your own. I dare you to test me in this. I positively dare anyone to prove that christianity was stolen form any myth that ever was!
My friend, I speakonly from the perspective of logic, reason and science. You believe in an invisible man in the sky and a terrible beast beneath the Earth who are in a constant battle for the souls of humanity. That to me sounds like a myth. Do you believe in the Garden of Eden? Noahs Ark? There is NO proof whatsoever for these events ever taking place. If you look at things logically, the historical version of events seems a lot more believable don't you think? Or did Satan make me say that?
The onloy thing even close to this is when you read astrology. The implications of astrology have striking correlations to the fact that a messiah was coming. If yo8u read the bible you find that the 3 wise men divined the coming of the messiah through the stars. Yet instead of thinking that astrology doctrines had the story first and then christianity came, you might want to consider that the stars were there first and the doctrines came from reading the stars. In the bible it states that the stars are there for signs to men. It is no accident that our entire universe positively radiates of Christs birth and of the truth of his life and ressurection from the dead.
You speak about Horace as if he were real. Now, why is that so unbelievable? The New Testament was written thousands of years later, yet you believe that?

Exactly my thought. I enjoy helping people which is one of the reasons I joined the navy. I would never put anyone down for believing or not believing; just as long as we all can accomplish the same goals of trying to make this world a better place.
