MikeHD: "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; {they are} gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them." Romans 1:16-32
In response to: I have found that there are very few people who believe in God or Jesus on this site, can someone tell me what their reasoning is? Why don't you believe in God, Jesus?
The believe in gods of any religion is something parents (or other people) do instil in you. It is not a natural reaction coming from your own mind.
If parents do not talk about a god when you're a child, you will not feel the need to create one. You will never notice any action taken by a god, never see any proof of an existing god. The believe and the religions are only manipulation of your brain.
I've been taught good behaviours to live with others and to be responsible for my actions. No promisses of rewarding heaven or threats of hell. My conscience is my only judge.
Moreover, when I see what is happening in the world, when my friends suffer badly, I cannot understand how some people still can believe in a good, loving and caring god.

Oh..sensible lady! My mother was beaten ( I'll say that rather than brought ) up roman catholic..she told us all but left it to us to decide...any religion that has it's basis in fear is not something I want any part in!
Because, perhaps we are rational and understand that it is ridiculous. I expect those that believe in God or Jesus also don't believe in Baal or Shiva. Well, we simply believe in one less God than you do. Simple.
I definitely believe in God/higher power call it what you will but I don't believe in any one particular religion, religion is man made.
I find some religions in essence to be quite arrogant and holier than thou and one one hand claim to be forgiving, peaceful, loving etc then on the other hand the same religion says if you don't believe in their 'special right' way of thinking then you are condemned to hell- is that conditional or what.
I like bits and pieces of different religions esp Buddhism but unfortunately I'm an avid hunter and fisherman, go figure

I felt the same way, but the gift of freedom of choice makes these things inevitable. We could either be like puppets, or we could be actual free thinking beings in the universe. God thought it more substantial to have freedom even though that meant suffering.
Ask yourself; is freedom really worth it? I say yes, and even though suffering is not fun, it is neccesarry in order to have a real existance.

Freedom of choice actually does mean that the perameters of our entire existance hold to certain laws. Especially once a person chooses to do evil. Disease and death go hand in hand with this freedom.
