I was born into the Catholic faith. When I was a teenager, I rebelled and wanted to leave. I then wanted to find out what the truth was regarding our purpose here and if there was a God. I studied extensively, attended several different churches, fell away again, came back and today here I am, a believer but stil have my own questions.
I understand where you are coming from, and I can see how it would seem like a fairy tale to you. Yet I have my own background of knowlege and experience (both intellectual and experiential) that I can't discount. I find these conversations interesting, but upsetting in how they quickly turn into mud slinging. I'm glad you try to be pleasant! It's a hard thing to be when it comes to religion/spirituality or politics.

It's no secret that I don't agree with any religion or belief system that's currently being purported as "the way", or as truth, at least to me.
I've always struggled with the idea that people can accept something as truth, that to me feels like a deception. No offense meant to you as a person, but I just don't get it. To me it seems so false, and that I can see it clear as day, and don't see how others buy into it.
I'm sure you've read at least some of my other posts, so you might have an idea as to what my thoughts are on spirituality.
There are no external sources neccessary, we have it all within ourselves, and all we have to do is tap into it. It's not any further of a stretch of belief than what you believe.
