In response to: I have found that there are very few people who believe in God or Jesus on this site, can someone tell me what their reasoning is? Why don't you believe in God, Jesus?
Every thing on planet earth has electrical impulse to move around; So for a man to say 'There is not a force behind it all' He is a man who is blind indeed. There is a force, and what his name is i do not know! I believe that the force, and his name has been altered by man kind, and man with his foolish ideas has bent the truth.

That force is called energy/infinity/consciousness. You might also google zero point energy (aka metaphysical energy) to find out at least one of your unseen forces.
crotalus_p: No that is a fact , You may think your being clever using the term "it is your right to disagree" You not your just showing a high level of ignorance in regard to the subject
hm? did my reply irritate you? i'm wondering why? i can say it again ---- it is your right to disagree. you can't know what is wrong and what is right from the point of the Universe (by Universe I mean that immense power, God or substance that will never be perceived by a human being)

That entire statement is nul and void until such time as you can provide proof of this god whom you speak of , by they way what makes you think you are right and all the other religions in the world are wrong ??
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours"

you know what? i am afraid you will never get a proof. all those who don't believe and claim to show a proof won;t see the God appear before them. call this statement null and void too. yes, its your right. but i keep telling what you feel, get and see when you believe is very individual. those who dont believe will not understand and where did i say my religion is right and other are wrong? i think i didn't mention anything like that.
Your trying to prop up a first centaury argument with a short quote from a man that is over 400 years older than the argument , this is the twenty first centaury
well, when he (Socrates) said that he didnt really mean that he knows nothing at all , but he meant one should not be absolutely certain about what he thinks he knows; but being firm in one's beliefs is not wrong
same with me. i have my own beliefs and so far they worked for me absolutely. yet i am not saying i know everything 100% sure and no do i impose my principles and beliefs on others. since this forum is for everyone to share their views, i have just told about mine

and whats your point in this ?
the old truths worked still work and, perhaps, will work

He was smart for a man of his time not ours

It is horrendously wrong when it is in the face of overwhelming evidence that contradicts it

i'm sure you know much more things. but please don't pick words out of entire context. should i repeat again for you or you can look above and read carefully ?
in fact, most here demand proof. what kind of proof do you want? Him appear before you to prove you that He really exist? why? who and what you are to have such privilege? human beings are little creatures compared to that inconceivable, enourmous substance, entity, power, energy, universe that has many names! and we are a part of it.

I know that I know nothing. Socrates
Claiming Knowledge, while having no knowledge? How can you know that you don't know?

If we are part of it (and I agree with that assertion), we then indeed can conceive it.
It is in fact belief that creates, affirms and materializes one's experience, no matter what one chooses to believe in.
A child who believes in Santa wholly and entirely experiences that belief as his/her reality. The same is true of ANY belief for any person.
Not True! A child is impressionable at that point(product of environment) and as you grow and develop your mind, hopefully start to question the things you were taught and be a free thinker and based upon that at least for me depended on my 5 senses and sometimes a 6th sense. I believe as a child it is a form of brainwashing wether by parents or otherwise.
I would think the question would really be why would you believe in god in the absence of proof? It seems to me more logical to not believe hence I do not believe. Thus, to believe I'd need proof. It's very simple really.

Good luck on your quest.
it is beyond materialistic side. hence it will be hard to get the evidence
