JSuburbia: ah, see, personally I think we need someone that is willing to take some initiative when the welfare of Americans is at stake...Would rather see our forces fighting drug cartels in Mexico than in Iraq at least...They were and are a bit more dangerous than Iraq.

JS you go in uninvited....the Mexican military is fighting you. They will end their counter drug operation to protect the country from gringo occupation. So without the invite....you wait.

JS...aerial imagery was at a infancy in WWII. They had got first hand reports from people escaping the camps....on what the conditions were. But they did not know were all the camps were.

There was what..like 400 of them....one that escaped only knew were one camps was located.

So allied units would stumble into a camp...or in some cases actually fight their way into a camp. Ill prepared for what was on the other side of the wire.

ttom500: ... But it is not the Mexican gov't that is the threat. But well organized gangs and cartels.

Just like it wasn't the government of Afghanistan that was the problem but mythical terrorist armies living in million dollar bunkers with state of the art technology out in the middle of the desert.

It will never be the common people of a nation that is the threat, it is always some sort of boogeyman that is oppressing those people.

The invasion is always humanitarian in nature.
Helping the people overcome oppression.

Otherwise how could the US be justified in killing hundreds of thousands of people in their own native land?

I highly doubt the Mexican military would attack U.S. forces that are operating in an anti-drug capacity.

JSuburbia: truely amazing that an entire nation kept a secret like that for over a decade...but yet we can't even keep a secret in this country without it ending up on wikileaks

That is the point...they did not keep it a secret....they knew as they sentenced those that were camp workers...they are as quilty as they.

Psyhcologist have studied it since the mid 50s....it is called the "German collective guilt". Both from what they knew and did after the war.

Do a search....and you will find allot on it.

cherryrae: shameful.

and if we allow it to happen again, the normal people of lower status will pay for it

Sadly, it's usually the groups that can't defend themselves and always the group that isn't considered by the tyrants to be "like them".

ttom500:
I just go back to the point I made earlier....we all know about waterboarding at GITMO. So? If you cannot keep word of a EIT from getting of a small isolated camp like GITMO.....how can you expect to keep the imprisonment and death of 6m Jews a secret?

The area was never classified as operating as a prison camp and the tactics we used as far as interrogation have been known for years. In essance there was nothing to keep a surprise.

ttom500: I have read a far amount on it....never saw that camp details were made "classified" by the German government. The German classifed alot...weapons design and mititary operation.....and the punishment for talking was sever.

I have never read of a camp staff being punished for a security breach.

You need to remember...the camps were set up...with the gas chamber and oven away from the main camp....there were like three camps in one. You had the death section. the work camp. the induction section.

Why was it such a big issue then? Yes our pilot get water board in escape and capture courses. But GWB waterboards 3 al Qeada and literally saves the Brooklyn bridge....and it like he was pulling finger nails and amputating toes.....

Even Nancy Pelosi knew. Till she had to forget.....you want some American hyprocacy on the war on terrorism...there it is.

rizlared: At this present time, maybe, but what of the future when the power comes into play, at the moment they have little or no power, but once they elect a leader, and that has to happen at some point, then we shall see, it may not be exactly Jews they get rid off, but maybe a modern version of whoever they can use as a scapegoat for all that has gone wrong with America in the past. I hope for the sake of America and the rest of the world you are right and I am wrong.

Time will tell

i agree. i really want for myself to be wrong on this.

and if so i will gladly shout a beer to all the teaparty faithful here and wipe my forehead

Sure. However, given their propensity for adhering to the constitution any move away from it is away from the party principals so, you would be better off saying this about the republican or democratic party for crying out loud.
