amahlala: So, you are cousins and you all just (Rand, Beck, Palin & yourself) sat down one day and discussed the past, current and future politics of the US and decided that America needed less government and more emphasis on "the people?"

Based on what Sarah Palin did and did not do for the city of Wasilla and the State of Alaska; do you feel that she has enough political experience and knowledge to carry the "message" across America? (Before you ask, I was a resident of Alaska for too many years and am also Alaskan Native)

For sure we know what we get when we elect a community organizer who had 2 years experience in the Senate...and most of the time he voted "present".

Her "street cred" is as good as the President's experience.

cherryrae: i agree, the european system is the way to go. but there is an inherent mindset and romanticism (not that i am discrediting it) of the way america was founded, and what is written in the constitution, even if i personally believe it is antiquated.
Older than you think, the US declaration of Independance was actually based on the Declaration of Arbroath (1307 Scotland). The US version has many good points and formed the basis of government by the people for the people...But sadly this has now been hijacked by pressure groups and big business....grin cheers

amahlala: I neither voted for Palin or Obama...neither of them have the experience to run a country effectively. I am also not saying that I believe the Tea Party Movement is the way to go.

For sure Obama is a 1 termer and I don't see Palin being electable. I suspect Romney will be the Repubican nominee, although there are several governors who would make effective Presidents.

absolutely. ad this is what some people forget. american governments have been corrupted by big business for a very long time, and the whole context of the constitution has been taken at liberty for those who need an agenda to push, or a product to sell. and that includes the tea party cheers

Night folks time to sleep......Leave you with a quote from the Scottish Declaration.....

"..for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom – for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

cherryrae: i agree with what the movement supposedly stands for, in regards to individual freedoms, small government, lower taxes. and honestly america needs a third party. but the tea party is not it.

i feel that parading something as a grassroots movement, when it is backed by koch industries the 2nd largest corporation in america,(who seem to have an agenda of destroying the EPA) and creating an undercurrent of fear of your ordinary fellow citizen, plus the fact that candidates fail to impress. it gets a no from me

Would you say the Koch Brothers are any worse than General Electric, which is Obama's back pocket? dunno

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing the EPA reigned in. They're another government agency that's out of control.

JSuburbia: Great president that is for sure...My only beef with him during his administration was the whole Lebanon debacle....That being said, he was between a rock & a hard place...Basically damned if he did & damned if he didn't.

He had his flaws, no doubt...but it was a time of good feeling and America was rebounding. cheers

In defense of Carter, he did make a good diplomat but in all honesty not as good as Shirley Temple Black.cool

They remembered Shirely Temple Black as the little girl that could dance the jig and liked to sing the Good Ship Lollypop. Jimmy Carter they remembered for the last bunch of Planter Peanuts that they eat that gave them indigestion.grin

I loved Ronald Reagan, bless his heart.

This could very well be a Tea Party Speech.

This is prognostic...almost physic. Watch this. It deals with our politics today. Ron was way ahead of everyone.
