cherryrae: but thats my point. i dont want to read opinion based pieces, eother for or against. i hope you understand
I do that is why I read both. I then form an opinion based on both sides of the argument and the numerous publications who are neither pro nor anti.....I often read the ones I find are so biased that it makes my viewpoint stronger against the folk who deny what I see as the truth ....Like I say the more you read the more you learn. So the ones with Headlines that you don't like, may have a lot of truth in the actual substance of the story. As always JMO..grin cheers

Steve5721: I hardly consider Wiki an opinion based article!

Also, what you fail to mention is that your beloved pie chart only cover the USA and not the rest of the world...so it is hardly a true and correct world fact is it?

"On the FBI’s official website, there exists a chronological list of all terrorist attacks committed on U.S. soil from the year 1980 all the way to 2005."

Steve, could you link me to the list, can't find it on the site.

JSuburbia: On the scale of modern terrorism, in a sense, it does considering that terrorisim has been at the forfront for the past 40 years. You are selecting only 1/4 of a the data to look at.

And your point is?

The data shown also only covers, as I have said, terrorism on US soil...so it's kind of moot sinc it only cover one country.

Now, if one can be shown to cover the world during the same period, I am willing to bet that the %'s will be different.

You don't have to agree

Before you were inferring that it was ok because it was satire...I know I don't have to agree with racisim, it's just a shame that you do.

Terrorisim happened on AMerican soil plenty through the 1990's and I believe some of the late 1980's, so in a sense it's relivant...I found the link btw.

There was also plenty of domestic terrorism in the 60s & 70's as well, however most of it from the 60's is due to antiwar movements hence why I chose to discount it.

It was happening on UK soil back in the 1960's.

my point is that the pie chart shown is only for the USA and not for WORLD terrorism...selective.

but thats the point. it is about america and its paranoia of muslims. i am not inferring that the way you are feeling is to be discredited as the 9/11 attaks were just appalling, and my heart as in that day sincerely goes out to the nation.

however we were debating the very wrong opinion that muslims are the main cause of terrorism in the US, which is simply not true.

amahlala: I've been reading the "Tea Party Patriots" link that the OP posted and then reading the Constitution of the US and the Bill of Rights and the Federalist Papers (yes, I know--not much of a social life going on here) and yet, I still do not understand what exactly they are trying to achieve....what am I missing?

Not your brain that's for sure!!

Anyone that pays Palin $100,000 for her name & face on their propaganda stuff can't have much of a brain!

They want lower taxes, repeal the healthcare bill..etc..

Wiki: The Tea Party movement is a populist, conservative and libertarian political movement in the United States that grew throughout 2009 into a series of locally and nationally coordinated protests. The protests were partially in response to several Federal laws: the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009,and a series of healthcare reform bills.

Maybe im biased. Had 2 friends and a neighboor lost in 9/11. saw the smoke from my house...so yeh there is a distrust even a fear of muslim EXTREMISTS..thats who attacked us, thats who wants us dead.

If it were the Aussies that did it, you might make me nervous too.

Thank God it wasn't because you seem like a force to be reckoned with.
