How about the Kobi thingo on Youtube? How much herd mentality was that? doh

How many people who saw it/read it, actually did any research to check the facts see if any of it was true??

I am a sceptic, I was bombarded from all sides to sign up, tick the box, 'like' the link. My first reaction was - Well, I think I need to know a bit more about this before I jumped onto the bandwagon which is rolling out of control?? professor

Kind of gone all quiet since the guy who made the Youtube clip kind of lost his marbles on the streets of California I think it was where he was half naked and rambling incoherently?? confused

Hope he is OK but don't remember hearing or reading anything since?

daggyone: we see it with Twitter, Facebook, CS you name it, people are influenced by their peers thoughts, recommendations and views.
Some just nod their heads like a herd of sheep following the leader and are unable to speak up and say what they think for fear of upsetting their peers views.
Everyone has their view, some a little extreme, but we are in a free world and there needs to be alternative view points in these threads to make for interesting conversation as if we all just agree with one another, that would be boring as watching grass grow.

Hi Daggywave

It doesn't take too much to make your mind up on everything from places, to current affairs, to people.

When you visit someone, hopefully, you visit them for them, not to make judgements on what they have...

When you visit a place, you can tell if someone has created beauty and you can see history, and you can see poverty

Current affairs is a great topic... everyone brings something to light. e.g. I had not heard of Ocalan before but after chatting to someone, I had to google it up... so now I learnt something, and that is a good thing..

Re People, some people are just wonderful, most are in fact, most try and live within their own worlds of what they find manageable. some try to improve and change their worlds,... and you can clearly see differences to preferences, but its wise to not disagree, because everyone tries to do the best for themselves on any given day.
So remembering this, I make heaps of allowances for people who say things that I disagree with, especially on fb.. There is a herd mentality for sure, I feel its better to be with the herd, than alone on a limb... but hey, thats me...
I have no problems running with the herd, especially if they are the 'core group'... if I really feel uncomfortable around what is being discussed, I just leave it alone. That does not mean that I dont speak my mind when I have clearly had enough.

At school, I had to read Lord of The Flies. And do essays and exams on it. On saying that, I did get an understanding of the 'pack mentality' (after reading the bloody book umpteen times trying to work it out). And "yes" I am guilty of doing that stuff over my time. But always managed to put a halt to it when I have managed to sit back and look at what I was doing.

I am a pacifist and I'll fight anyone who says I'm not.bouquet
