I am watching the new series of the Australian drama Prisoner it's the modern version of the old series back in the eighties I think it was when it aired. It started yesterday on Foxtel should be on the local TV stations soon. Don't know if any of you guys use to watch it not a bad Aussie show.

You know the funny thing is I'd either get a written warning or the sack for writing about my work place online . They are very tough about facebook . One of my co workers said the wrong thing to a co worker on facebook and she got into major trouble !!! Yes the co worker went straight to the boss the next day !!
And I will never give my work my mobile . They ask for it in our contact details and at one stage were txting people to change their work hours over night. Until they were pulled into line by higher ups .
Knowing my luck they also track workers by their phone numbers !!

After reading everything you've told us, I've realised my job is like a walk in the park.

My boss is like a second hand car dealer if he thinks he can talk you into doing something(like overtime) he will !!
Although I know for a fact someone is looking at legal action against him . I wont say more !!
And I also know not long after he started he blabbed about another employees personal problem. And he got a smacked wrist for that !!
So yep I need to let go .I go to work and do what I have to and come home . Best way !!

But what everyone needs to remember if the higher ups think we aren't making money. Every one will be walked out the door . No two weeks notice no matter who you are !! As seen a few weeks ago !!

Was thinking back to my hospital appointment to see the diabetic specialist . I needed my medication changed I had no sick leave so I put in for an annual leave day .which they would have used if I got a sick cert . He told me off told me I needed an hour off nothing more and made me cancel the appointment . When I called the hospital up and changed the appointment they couldn't believe an employer would stop an employee seeking medical assistance. In fact I was told by a diabetic nurse it was illegal !!
Anyway he came back the next day all best mateish what happened with your appointment told him I had to wait another 2 months . he wouldn't accept the fact told him im a public patient . Anyway month latter I had a weeks leave to ensure I saw the specialist .
With that in mind and needing to see a cardiologist I'm taking a sick day . If I have sick leave or not I'll get a cert take the day off . I dare not ask as its stocktake week and I'll be expected to work 12 hour days !!
So yeah I work to live to not live to work
Micky always get a doctor's certificate, if you dont have any sick days left they will then take it off your annual holidays, and they cant argue because... you have a doctor certificate!

That even if you have a signed contract that as long as you work a reasonable or acceptable (sorry cant think of the wording)amount of overtime that you can refuse overtime. Meaning dont refuse all overtime, just do what suits you.
At present I am working around 5 hours overtime a week minimum and I am trying to get that changed as I dont want to but there is no one, no other way to get the work done. But this week I am in another section training so someone else will be covering my job and I just get to go in and finish up so maybe I might see daylight this week!

You aren't that old micky anyhow when you have spare time it doesn't hurt to go out look at other job prospects you never know you might just grab a way better job and better wages
I know would if I wasn't totally happy in my work place I would. If you were here in the west there are so many mining jobs up north & top wages wish I was 10 years younger I would def head to the mines PrOwLeR_: That vest happens to be holding his pants up serene ........
