Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3 And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. 4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, 5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
easy answer. because they lived so long, frustration kept building up. It is giving you a pre-taste of eternal life. It will drive you insane and wanting to smack each others head in. Especially with a bloodthirsty god you need to worship just because he made you. Like your car needs to worship it's engineer. And your children need to be willing to sacrifice your grandchildren for you.
We know Seth was born when Adam was 130 years old ( Genesis 5:3 ), and Eve saw him as a replacement for Abel ( Genesis 4:25 ). Therefore, the time period from Cain's birth to Abel's death may have been 100 years or more—allowing plenty of time for other children of Adam and Eve to marry and have children. just a google answer.
danieljosh: Adam and Eve only had sons I'm Still trying to figure that one out
It's pretty obvious that whoever fabricated the story of Adam & Eve and Cain & Abel was lacking in basic biology education. Just look at where all this BS comes from, it comes from the Middle East, what more is there to say?
Because the writers of this fairy tale stated it as such,....
But if you must seek an interpretation, seek out the wisdom of a Rabbi,....for this is their realm,...it is of the Old Testament,...the book of the fearsome and vengeful god, as opposed to the Christians with their Easter zombie god,....
Signed the former follower of the many gods of Greece (okay Zeus,...back off with the lightning bolts!)

I quite like the stories of vengeful gods, whether middle eastern, norse, greek, etc.
They are more fun.
I wouldn't become ardent followers of any of them though

Indeed! I am well read in many mythologies,....and the anthropological vengeance interjected into nearly all of them makes for great reading and wondering what moral aspect the authors were trying to put forth! The Norse are dang good at this - hell, according to astrophysicists,....they may actually have it right! LOL! (Har har,...go look it up ya monotheists and non-string theory partisan throw a nickel in the collection plate thumpers!)
