What do you call a successful relationship? Is the the length of time? Is it the happiness shared, no matter the length of the relationship? Is it the fact that two separated cordially? Is it the fact that even years after it ended, you still are friends?

Good question, Sergio.
I guess most of us would think of the happy ever after relationship as the successful one.
But few relationships last indefinitely. So I guess any relationship where both people enjoyed the relationship, learned from it, and left before damage is done is a successful one.

I totally agree with this statement. It is not the length of time...but the quality of time that counts. I have been in relationships that have lasted less than a year...but I learned from them. I have twice been a 16 year relationship, and learned from them. Other than my wife that died, I am still in contact with them all. And the one that passed away................I will be in contact with again
