I said Pisces was my favourite sign...for men and women.
I also like Libra men and Capricorn definitely.
My best women friends are Scorpios.
But....I don't ask them when meeting someone and I don't judge someone from their sign as I don't really take it that seriously. There are many factors to take into consideration.

I think that I have to write this publicly as well, since I've already got too many messages from people who thought that I am really into astrology and know a lot about it.
That is far from the truth. I have very little knowledge and don't rely on it at all when meeting new people. And I value my own personal experience much more than what the books say.

I can often recognise a particular star sign due to their traits so am quite a believer... but I bred a litter of pups many moons ago and each had a very different personality.. as an Aries I married a Leo.. it didnt work out but went on to spend 36 years with my late Taurus partner

I know a Scorpio/Aquarius couple (friendship couple that is) and I think it is one of the best friendships I've ever seen between two people...they are unseparable
With that combination in one person is pretty cool I think. Oh, by the way, Venus has moved into Aquarius at the moment, so good news for you

If somebody told me their star sign, I'd probably panic a bit as I wouldn't know what I would be supposed to read from it
I did have one partner though, who used to excuse everything he did by blaming it on being a Leo. I was having none of it!

You were definitely right not to accept bad behaviour just because he was a certain sign. If there are ''bad'' qualities to a sign I think they are there so we can master them and transcend them - and grow as people. My best friend is a Leo, and has one of the best senses of humour I've ever met in anyone. His humour eclipses the annoying things

It's interesting that you find Taureans such a challenge, they are your opposite sign.

Funny you should say that, Cally! I'm NOT ONLY a Libra, "I" have a Libra ascendant! But, as you can read, here, I'm NOT the "best liked" poster in/on the foruns! But I have a somewhat "unusual" chart. ALL my planetary influences fall in/on the left side of my chart! It's VERY "UNbalanced". And, UNlike most Libras, I've NEVER felt any "compulsion" to/for "relationships". It's NOT that I disdain relationships. I enjoy people/relationships as much as any other Libra. But I've NEVER "sacrificed" MYSELF, to/for them. I've ALWAYS, in ALL ways, been extremely independent and assertive. But then, somewhat strangely, I'm an introverted personality type, whereas most Libras are more "gregarious" personalities. And I'm NOT disposed to "mediate" relations between people/groups.
So the idea that having a Libra ascendant, makes one AUTOMATICALLY the BEST "negotiator", can be fallacious. Just a thought/comment. But then, I've had a LOT of somewhat unusual "experiences", in/during my life. As well as an unbalanced chart.
