My latest post to this thread was in response to an article on page 19 of this thread posted by Trish by Dan Barker. The top of my last post was a quote from his article, and the main part of my post was in rebuttal to Trish's assertion that Mr Barker's missive was based on intellectual thought. Sorry if I confused anyone....thanks.

Unfortunately there are people who claim to be Christian or Anti Christian just to fit in with a certain group. Does not make a good cae for either. As for 'bactracking on the book,: I think you read it, you take what you understand, apply faith to the rest, when you do have questions approach it from a positive point of view, and use study guides, groups to help you grasp the concept of how the part that troubles you fits in with the rest of the text. The Bible is a complex work, yet very straight forward. As with any field of study you will get out of it what you put into it, and associate with it. If you associate the Bible with positive experiences, I'm sure you'll discover that it maintains integrety.
To say that because tthey get comfort from belief means they are manipulated is jumping to a judgement. It implies they are weak willed, and subject to being manipulated. I think every case deserves the respect that the belief is concious.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smart Aleck remark to follow ******************************************************** If you are looking thru a bottle, that may be the problem!
**************************************************** It seems from reading history that even 'intelligent human beings' are more than capable of depraved acts. Hardly from a savage society.

And A Merry Christmas to you too.
I guess I seen the kids poem/lyrics not as a statement of fact or fiction, with nothing to indicate his position, or how it related to the question at hand or any post.
Therefore I responded to him on the same level he brought in. Sorry if you don't like it.

Depends on the size of the shoe, I suppose. And the ps2 is outdated, noe the kids want ps3. at $300-$500 a pop, they'd have to be wearing wodden shoes for a few years for me to afford it.

Again I feel that your predetermined opinion colors your objectivity. If you could admit other opinions to the mix you'd be able to compare and contrast.
