Charlos, after the religious mob attack the God-thread really is even to those who believe in god and not in religion, not to mention of a blind-faither who said YOU are the one who has the small brain, I'm not even wasting anymore time on these deluded - and wilfully deluded - fools.
Even after all those facts, historical accounts, the blind-faither still says ‘America is Founded On Christian Morality.’
And The gnome includes Darwin in a list with Stephen King.
Maybe they don't know what 'foundation' means, hey Charlos?
Well, Charlos, your wisdom was right all along my man, and you said the wisest thing on the God thread out of everyone:
‘The world wants to be deceived, so let it be deceived.’
You were the only man on the God-thread from whom I had anything to learn.
Now let Wandering Gnome learn the meaning of what I meant by:
'He who laughs longest laughs last.'
And lets both take heed to those wise words of yours!

Aha! I knew you couldn't resist popping in. You reveal your circular logic right at the outset. "I'm not even wasting anymore time on these deluded - and wilfully deluded - fools." And here you are. Darwin belongs with King, though King develops his characters better. A foundation is a solid, unshifting base pon which to build. As you demonstrate, philosophy is inconsistant, ever shifting. To build upon such a surface is folly, sure to bring your house down ,around your ears. The fact is we are born seeking not to be decieved, but to seek. Our immaturity, and foolish notion of intellect allow us to be easily decieved, and to excuse the fact by saying we all wish to be. Perhaps Charlos is the only man who could teach you. Hopefully some of the wisdom the ladies presented enlightened you also. You once paraphrased Shakespeare in seeking my wisdom. Allow me to return the favor, from "King Lear": "Prithee, nuncle, keep a schoolmaster that can teach thy fool to lie. I would fain learn to lie."

I agree that a church should not make government policy, by the same token, I don't think government should dictate worship.
But before we get too far into this debate, we need to acknowledge thta it is not the Christian Church alone which we are discussing. Seems like I remember a lot of noise about the Taliban in Afghanistan blowing up century's old carvings of Buddha, since it conflicted with thier religion. I also remember that the US government joined in the official protest. Was that the voice of an uncompromising, Christian autocracy? I am trying really hard not to get off on a seperation of chrch and state thread here. My own feelings are that I want my representatives to have a good moral compass, and to use that to determine policy. I want the church to champion morality, not direct legislation. Elected officials need to make decisions that affect us all. Sometimes the best interests of the state require that it go to war, where people will be killed. Thou shalt not kill is a commandment, but there is a time when a government must defend it's citizens.
ARRGH- wrong debate- wrong thread!
Fact is the government does not care if there is or is not a God, they operate in a different realm.

I am sorry, but it is a behavior choice that I find offensive. Kind of like picking your nose or S&M. Not really any of business if that's what you are into, but I don't need, or want to know the details. I think it is ridiculous that while the majority attempts to accept a minority's choice, they are chastised and ridiculed for not abandoning thier own choice.
Some people don't mind standing in line with Gays, but don't like being sent to the end of the line because they are NOT gay.

Boy they are so deceived by a foolish lies and notions and have no real foundation at all.Me, I prefere the real solid foundation myself..... Jesus Christ ALMIGHTY..... Hey did you notice that arrogant dragon tail as well? Must be an idol worshipper of some sort??????? Sorry just couldn't resist!!!!!!
I'm assuming that "fiction" meant the bible is the word of god. I don't believe it is. It was written by men to control their fellow man. They may have heard voices or been inspired by something but I don't believe it was god or any other deity.

Do you really believe that? why would you think that? to control their fellow man? In what way? Voices? I have never heard voices.... God does what He does and may I add gets it Done. Can you answer those questons as I am really curious to see your reasoning on the subject...
