Yumie...your response was very intelligent. I also didn't see any hate in your remarks. I am not attacking the message, but the messanger. Ray is damaging his own cause with his bigotry. You can agree with his message all you want..there is no problem there. But his tactics are appalling. I am not in any movement against Ray's or your ideas. I am against his arrogant hatefulness towards anyone who disagrees with him.
Bullying and hate should be reviled in a very complicated and devisive discussion. I just called Ray out on the carpet for these tactics. I am just pushing back....Why is it ok for Ray to suggest people with religious faith are indoctrined and brain-washed, but me suggesting the same applies to college professors with an agenda is so wrong? Are college professors infallible? Is their gospel any better? Why are philosophers so revered for sitting around all day and thinking? There are tons of people in mental institutions who sit around and think all day too.
Why a man with his intelligence needs to belittle others is beyond me. I am a person with no college education and I have a very serious mental illness. But I have run rings around Ray using logic and compassion.
Gnome is entitled to his beliefs all he wants. Why is he such a threat to you or others for his personal beliefs?

I could not and would not agree with the God of the bible as described by many on this thread I definintely can not believe in an unmerciful ,hateful, vengeful,intolerate, unloving , bigoted God nor would I think anyone who did was sane.
That is certainly not the understanding I have found.
So I hope when the " great minds " are reading the Upanishads, Veda, Tao, the Koran or whatever, they can understand them with a whole lot better understanding than they have shown according to their knowledge of what the bible is and what it says.

God is not unmerciful, hateful,vengeful,intolerate,unloving, bigoted and no one is saying that. You are not understanding what was being shared. if you are refereing to what was posted you would know that is not what is being portrayed at all in regards to God.

If you knew Jesus Christ then you would know the Father and of His love and you would understand that it is regards to the Holy Spirit. God is Love and He leads into all truths. It is the acknowledgement that Jesus is the way to the Father He is the way the truth and the life. No one can go to the Father except through Him. He is all love and mercy and understanding and a very forgiving God.

I am actually amused by the zealotry displayed on this thread by people who are blind to the fact in themselves - simple as - blind faith.
