Black Sheep

Black sheep
name they gave
to you
undeserved

Misjudged
you seem different
but you
did nothing wrong

Prejudice and morals
high minded people they
disdained your life
don't you know
you re not to blame

Black is fine
just like wine
i draw close
to you

Never be put down
never feel excluded
though you may be

Don't let people
take your dream
hurt your life

Black sheep
name they gave you
they never saw
the wonder in you

I like black sheep
told you true
theres nothing
wrong with you

great write, serpico, really. and it reminds me of my favorite comeback line: i've been called worse by better people than you! (not directed at you, of course...just all those high-minded low-lifes) the wool of the black sheep is just as warm--ernest lehman
