i saw it today
out in the distance
was too far away
a grass covered field
a tear came into my eye
hanging from a tree
couldn't tell was it
man or woman
boy or girl
hanging by a rope or a belt
i'm not sure for i was too far away
was soo small i could only see a head
i was soo scared didn't no if it was
alive or dead
the sun was out in my eyes
was so quiet with a slight breeze
lump in my throat as i made my way
had to stop should i go see
what is this that's hanging by a tree
i turned the other way
couldn't bare to see
what this might be
thoughts came to mind
what if there still alive
how could i walk away
i stopped in my tracks
then continued on
closer i came sun was going down
shadows finally lifted
then i knew it was dead
for it was red
but then i seen many on this tree
as closer i came
for it was just an
apple tree
