close your eyes rise above fifty feet off the ground seperate yourself from a world that were in look down at whats going around can you see the madness disrespect torture of the earth and all it's beauty can you feel the anger the tension in the air what are we doing to each other in the world we know. look up at the stars what is it you see the moon, clouds, rock dust why are we in such awwe of the outter space is it because were so small I do not think this is it here on earth man thinks he is the biggest of all why is it we need to go to mars so we can destroy it to as we done too the earth how many planets does man want to destroy until he is satisfied do you not see mars is not a waste land it is beauty in its own for the earth was also at one time until man made it his own just wait all you planets for man is on his way too destroy you, just ask the moon.

About this poem:
how can we expect to go to other planets if we can not treat our own planet with care. it is like you destroying or making a mess of your own home and going to your friends home and treating it in the same respect. look at the garbage the astronouts throw out the space shuttle into space and the garbage they have left on the moon and now mars. and who knows what other planets are next in line. for our own greed of satisfaction.
yea there is and it makes a person wonder if it angers us like this how does God feel to what we have done to his creation. glad you agree and found this the way it is intended thank you.
Hi, kickit, Yes, although there is a tendency to feel superior, what other animals frivolously destroy their own homes/life-giving environments KNOWING that they are doing so but do it anyway? Though you poem begins with close your eyes, thank you for trying to open ours.
and thank you for being such a great part of poetry central. i think through poems we can wake some people up on the destruction of our planet.
kickit.

Hi Kickit
A timely write recognising the peril we put the planet in by the reckless way we pollute and pillage the fragile eco-structure. A topical and persuasive narrative.
Great comments Kickit. Apparently there are thousands of space junk circling the earth and there was never any thought as to how to get it all down safely...what does that say about mankind, womankind, personkind....you know what I mean..lol.
