a trail of death

went in the kitchen
getting something to eat
turned around asked her
what she wants to drink
mother and child
walking down the street
were hit by a car
killed on the scene
all the houses
were lit up in the night
with all the blue and white
gun shots rang out
just down the street
brother and sister got killed
just riding there bikes
no way in no way out
all the cops have moved in
I was horrified
how can this be
I asked my girl
can we turn this off
and watch a comedy

About this poem:
you have to admit alot of killings going on in movies and tv shows now days.are we getting to the point we are conditioning our selves of becoming immune to death because there is so much of it being publicized.

trying to think of a better titled when thought of i will change it.

Mike, your poem had the same impact on me as those TV programs you've identified in your write!! I was thinking as I was reading your poem... "This reads like a modern TV script for a Friday night movie!!"

Very good expose' of what so many have grown so calloused toward!! I like Elo's title suggestion!!

Good to see you up and writing Bro!!! thumbs up

Very true comments....death, murder and mayhem is becoming so commonplace on tv that most people don't even give it a second thought.

cheers

How about "benign indifference".....it's shocking that's why i hardlyever turn the TV in anymore.....wish they had the Olympics every year.....

very clever write.. and I agree, which is why I usually opt for the older comedies when I do actually watch the idiot box.. doh teddybear
