This is a poem/story about my generations preoccupation with guns... from an early age.
To all poets who entered or took part in any way in "Mizzy's Green Challenge" I would like to extend my warm thanks. I must say I was bowled over with the response. You are all such a great bunch of people and such fantastic poets, its simply a
The endless battle of religion, A disguise most serve man's need for greed and power. The endless fight of good and evil.
I wrote this poem as a tribute to some of the good people I’ve met in the CS forum and blogs.
Hillary d*ck, Hillary dock, Hillary wound up the cuckoo clock, mail was late the server went dry, her hands clenched in rage passing it by, now the Killary shield's firmly in place, dentures pasted in, false charms on her face, the one thing she'd do
Riddles speak of truth.
I'll be honest- I'm a bit toasted, and this needs a lot of work. Will get back around to this later. It is about a hard working man who tries to live a simple life, believes that the most important works will come from laboring in the land, and who ultimately, having never had faith or much interest in the political world, believes that his most important work, at this point in his life, where he is beyond capable of everything he has ever placed faith in, is to remove that which he feels is evil, by assassination.

This poem is dedicated to my fellow Nigerians. Nigeria is the world's sixth largest producer of petroleum (oil/gasoline) yet its people are poor and hungry because of corruption of its leadership. At the same time she exports her crude abroad and imports the refined products and sells to its citizens at the same prices, sometimes higher, that non-oil producing nations, despite the fact that the nation has several capable local refineries. The painful fact about this is that despite the man-made poverty in the land, the peoople do not attack their problems in practical ways, majority of the people are hoodwinked into believing that the devil or some witchcraft, by their neigbour, is the souce of their mishap - so they easily throng to religion hoping to find the opium for their 'troubled' souls. I dedicate this poem to inform my fellow Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora that solution to a man's problem does not come from abroad or above, it comes from within - a will to see a change. The national anthem of Nigeria starts with the words 'Arise O Compatriots'.

In praise of Ireland's London 2012 Olympic gold medalist for women's boxing, Katie Taylor, athlete role model and all round inspiration.
This is obviously a war song. I'm in the middle of writing a story, and it in the main character is fighting in a war she has no choice but to participate in. I wrote this song as sort of a "background song" to them marching to an ongoing battle. It is a mix of rap/metal. Italics are of a regular, flowing singing (by a woman in my head), while the rest is harsher obviously, (this time in my head, it's a male.) However it pops up in your head is up to you though.

Overwhelming evidence! TOO many Improbable comebacks...Teams play like champions one half and forget how the second half! Most games (especially the most relevant) are kept dramatic til final seconds so fans stay in there seats til the end. Networks have to have stories to tell each week. Stories (even made up ones to keep drama alive)...because it works best! If last years Super Bowl didn't stir any faith...nothing will. twkd and added 2 lines on 3/18 rearranged 3/5/23
Abstract about the loneliness and solitude of conviction, about the desire for freedom and liberty. Independence and Unity that march side by side is stronger than the forces that separate them.

To Fight And Die They serve to fight and die, Yet does anyone even ask why, For they are heroes hidden away, That keep us safe every day. They take the battle far away, Where evil has long held sway, To show that right is the way, Correct

Tribute to all those who serve and are serving. may your spirit fly!
One day I talked to a quite close friend and was told with no emotion disturbing his speech that he shall leave soon, join army, be a proper soldier. No matter how many reasons he found for it, I was - and still am and always will be - against such decisions. But its his life, if he wants to waste it, its his choice I suppose...
