We are sitting at the local cafe. Drinking beer. Talking life away. Laughing at our little "in" jokes. So different we are. One likes to stay in. One likes bars. No rush to get home. That's how it is when your all alone. I am settled now

Friendship is very special but we live our lives in the fast lane and assume our friends will always be there. Make time for the special people in our lives :)

I prayed for you before we met, Not knowing who you'd be. I asked the Lord to send a friend. One chosen just for me. I asked that they'd be Godly, With wisdom of His ways. A friend to help and guide me I the troubles of these days.
We enjoyed a regular late bar with about 10 pals gathered. My observations were accurate but I continued my friendship. If there were more than 3 people he never bought a round. He retired early 25 years ago. I never saw him after. He will not have changed. He always said as he entered the bar:- " Times are hard and friends are few "

My inspiration came from my uncle who is a beautiful carver in NZ. Seeing his carvings, I was inspired to write this poem for a friend, I have met from far away.
