Forlorn love

Love isn't perfect unless you really know
It is a very lonely place where all the doors have been shut
That hour is here, I knew it would come
However hard I try to pretend it isn't there
I am lie like a fallen bird looking up at clouds
As I watch them take the shape of all our dreams
With eyes now wide open, I mirrored the touch of her hands
I spread each wish beneath her wings
On shores afar I tread my dreams
as you fade slowly in cascading streams
as rain drops fall on a lone dove
I lay awake in a cold night which once knew love
in yearn to see her charming eyes
I find the trail that takes us down to meet the ocean
Where I swim in waves of emotions
Then I walk along the shore lone and sad
Where I want write our love forever in the sand

Love Thief

Our time together has come to an end

An incomplete journey stopped in its tracks

My heart bound by bandages of pain

No moving forward no way back

The sunset and the moon glows, not so bright

Every pain I ever felt turned to one

Aching goes unfilled no destiny

A battle fought, I lost no one won

My emotions are as a mime, no sound

Heads turn a blind eye to fearful to look

Head held high behind the wall truth

Clinging to love life savagely took

Each heart beat waiting for reckoning

Used discarded little soldier did die

Covered up beneath the ugliest lies

You did not hurt me...

You did not
manage to hurt me
or ruin my existence,
the palace of light
you left me
is joyful and warm...

You perfumed my existence
for so long
you brought paradise
with your warm and naked body
my hands still shake
at the memory of your breasts..

My lips still tremble
when I remember
kissing your silken neck
such a sweet taste
left upon them...

So, how can I be hurt?
although you left me
how can i hate you?
you left me with an ocean
of dazzling fish
swimming in a sea of passion..

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is a promise
like so many I have heard.
Promises are easily broken
for they are only words.
Yesterday has vanished.
Tomorrow never comes.
I can't live my life
for memories
or waiting
on the dawn.

You ask "What of tomorrow?"
and Beloved, you've got to know
that I would to never leave you
beause I love you so.
But there've been so many others
who swore their undying need;
so I don't count upon your love.
Sure as I do, you'll leave.

"Tomorrow... Tomorrow,"
so many people say, "I'll love you still tomorrow,"
and then forget to love today.
But "Tomorrow, tomorrow..."
is but a promise,
cold and gray,
for all we have is memories
and the time we share today.

About this poem:
Consider this: "Love" is a VERB--and ongoing process of being the best soul you can be with each passing moment.

An oldie from 1984, this little song popped into my mind a few days ago, out of nowhere, and asked to be shared. Hope you enjoy it.

Sorry I have been away so much of late. I'm working feverishly on the sequels to "Chalice" and on final edits of that herculean story. I could use a few beta readers. If there are among you any who'd like to get a free electronic copy of "Chalice" and review it for me on amazon, write me and I'll be happy to arrange to send you a .docx file.

Tear Drops

Tears drop to my face,
without any trace.
Of what was once whole,
but now is brutal.

I could see it clearly,
of what it could be.
In some odd way,
I couldn't see what you would say.

As I lie down and cry,
you would just walk on by.
So these tears still drop to my face,
without any trace.
Of what was once whole,
but now is brutal.

Found love and lost

I will touch you where you least Expect,
I will touch your heart.
I will make you shake your head left to right,
I will play your song.
I would bring memories filled with tears,
I will kiss you passionately tonight.
I will walk out the door,
I will leave you now alone.

hold me

I'm the type of girl to still believe in fairy-tales
the typical girl who wants fiction and fantasy in her real world
i wear a dress that flares at my knees
i meet men who promise me all they things they need to promise me
yet they never deliver, i guess that's what you would call a liar.

im so sick of the "happy ever after"
always seeming to come "after" the pain
im sick of this false love game, i wish to never fall in love again
inside i drown as every tear washes my beliefs away
i used to believe in love i used to believe in happiness

now im left in darkness, i realize only one thing in fair-tales are true
The villain is always out there... to use you.
I followed the breadcrumbs to my fate, its me alone realizing i'm too late
aged before my time, old whilst in my prime as my tears washed away what i once believed.

The dog and the moon...

The high tides
of the sea
washes me up
upon the shores
of your musical heart...

I am awakened
to the sound
of a dog
howling at the moon
because it is round...

My hands are dirty
but now are cleansed
wrapped around your waist
my eyes are open
to follow you like infant stars...

The dog again howls
at the bright yellow moon
because it is far away
she takes snaps of it
but cannot swallow it...

To the starry night
my heart opens
heart releasing it's decay
releasing a man
from a city of tombs...

The dog outside
howls again at the moon
because her heart
is broken
much like mine...

I take refuge
in her musical agony
she knows like me
there is no one
to tell her it
will be alright soon..

I wish to reach out
and touch you
ever so softly
until time
considers us embers

in the latitudes
of Venus and Mars
until then
I follow you
in cosmic dreams

of passing Halley's comet
passing by my sky
leaving me
in a coma
of ice and dirt...

Broken Promise

im layin here
and down my face
slides a tear
it feels like lace
but burns like fire
i know its my fault he's gone
but to get him back is my desire
...he left me on my own
lost and confused
standing alone in a daze
i saw him as the one to choose
but my sight may have been a haze
i loved him
he said he loved me
maybe it was too many times we said it
"forever and always baby"
even thinking that hurts my heart
my love was--is-- real
then that dream ripped it apart
his heart,another girl did steal
he never reassured my troubled mind
a friend hinted that he wasnt being true
tell me then,why?
why did i love someone like you?
someone who treated me so right,
who turned right around and done me wrong.
i lay in bed every night,
and think about all tht was said on the phone.
it was all a act,
or thats how it seems.
i couldnt handle that
now his face is always in my dreams..
everytime i try to go torwards my love
he moves away
i reach out, my hands in white gloves
i grab at him with a feeling of dismay
i took that as a sign
and decided to protect myself
im not chargin u with a crime
i just dont like bein set on a shelf
if u want to know what takes the cake
then all it takes is a call
i love you and i'll wait
all the way up to deaths ghostly halls

Looking Forward

The prettiest bird is one in flight.
No guilted cage can make thee more beautiful.
Thank you for nesting on my tender bough.
The wind of love has bent me but not broken me.
Each winter's rest awakens me to the light of my seed's future.
