Storm at Sea

The storm gathers strength
air increasing its wavelength
clouds rush as past they scurry
the cold creates a snow flurry

the winds fight as they battle
cold against warm they rattle
out to sea the waves gigantic
as they rush across the Atlantic

building up into a hurricane
tossing like balsam the plane
the waves below broiling
for war they are spoiling

the ocean their playground
eerie, the lights and sound
of the clashing clouds
bodies will fill the shrouds

before the peace returns
until then the world burns
as nature's anger subsides
and the souls peace abides

4 Seasons In A Day

Days of rapid change
four seasons give a range
Rain hails from dull grey skies
until full summer's high

Confusion, stirring thoughts
of what a season brought
Who can dismiss promises of spring,
when hopes dances and nature sings

As breezes flutter instead of flow
unlike winter, with gale force blow
Spring showers that can sprinkle
speckled sunshine, fades and twinkles

A morning chill, until warm mid-day
when children laugh when at play
Until late afternoon, cooling down
brings bleaker skies, a night is found

We experience, four season in a day
Till summer settled, gifts autumn hay
Herald of season, a winter's scene
Nature splendid, in tones of green.

As we approach, a changing time
Joys of springtime, crossing lines
Hope is welcomed, with open hearts
From nature's creature, as well as plants.

revisiting.......

shivering to the bone
teeth chattering
clambering my way up over
shell encrusted rocks
sharp insensitive
picking my way
through the pockmarks
of weathered enscarpment
carved by neptune
pausing to peruse
the bay in all its glory
feathered chandeleir waves
winding across shifting banks
leaving but a trace
of sand and salt
as i reach my perch
small caves of time
where like a shag
i air myself to dry
under the warmth
of the winter sun
while searching
the crystal clear waters
for any marine life
i gaze along the empty beach
upto the furtherest point
saturating myself
in the wonderment and beauty
of this hidden bay
kissed by the sun
dressed by nature
i am still in awe
thirty years from then......

The Playful Winds

The playful winds blew softly from the south
summer breezes gentle as they pass by
full of the scents of seasons flowers
flooding my senses and filling my soul

Summer has swept in full of her glory
Roses, Tulips Stately Lupins stand tall
I stroll through winding lanes of memory
harking back to other glorious days

Other summers that we shared together
now just memories of days gone by
as the southerly winds tugs my sleeves
I come back to the splendour of today

trucks, waitresses and dockyards

the dark swam down from the ceiling.. to a world all studded with stars

and she turned the key in her pickup.. and drove home like all the rest of the cars

she waited for a noise like a phone ring.. to break up
all the stories in her mind

and the lights that stalled all her journey.. made her think for a second of the blind

now I walked up the hill by the dockyard.. because I saw
her name on the screen

just then a bird flew out
of a building.. and I forgot
about the ghost in the machine

and I'm far, far.. from mean

the cafe played songs from the sixties.. and the waitress had a smile like a dream

and she wrote down her number
on my napkin.. and I forgot
about the ghost in the machine

she hot showered alone in her apartment.. hearing lovers
wreck beds through the wall

and her mom rang to say that she loved her.. and she cried when she knew she was gone

see a memory's just a memory if you let it.. and your time is like a poem in your mind

but some of us just can't write a love song.. and for some there ain't no other kind

and I'm far, far.. from mean

I lit my cigarette with the lighter she bought me.. I felt no guilt although I knew that I should

and I finished my coffee around midnight.. to the strains of "johnny b goode"

see a marriage is just a marriage
if you let it.. and a promise is made a promise by time

through the years I've learned life
is a poem.. and some of us just don't want to rhyme

and I'm far, far.. from mean

~~~ THOUGHT OFF THE SHOULDER ~~~
~~~ THOUGHT OFF THE SHOULDER ~~~
Author: breathless22
Well here I am at the board and I want to write.
It is easy for some then others it is no more than
a blank.

Writing lets the thought off the shoulder and maybe
a new friend into your life. I have learned that to
express yourself is to let go and it will release
and come from your heart to another.

We start out in this room reading a write and then it
sparks a thought and we do a new write and then off to
the game room and I am there for a few hours and go to
blog a bit however, I am right back here for a new write.

If I get a hit it is okay, and
then if it is just a bunch of readers that’s alright too.
In my books I am not here for a prize or praise I am
here because I like to write just like you.

old man

Who are you
Your body
Grows old
Hints of hair grey

Kness that knock
And sometimes pain
Hints of pain you hold your chest
They come and go

Breathless
Climbing those stairs
Where once
You ran in a minute mile

Age creeps upon your face
Those creaces that once where not there
Skin that takes a while to snap back
Wrinkles you see when you stand and stare

Now I know who you are
Your now that old old man

Amber Red

What a wonderful LIFE this would be,
If they hadn't changed our humanity.
There are patterns layed before our eyes,
That if OBSERVED will not deny.
To speak our mind is one thing all together,
The SEED of which is COURAGE,
It sometimes fetters.
You may say,"I want to broaden my view."
There are TRUTHS that will HURT you.
Truths that when realized,
Will cut as if buttered with prideful dispise.
For when a speaker is in front of you,
Speaking on things THEY KNOW are untrue,
They will turn a certain hue,
Trying to pass those bits off as true.
Look at the face AMBER RED,
Take into context what's being said,
Add it all up,
UNBIASED nor PROUD.
This is what separates the truth from the shroud.
Be very patient to get it right,
You will see it as true as light!

About this poem:
I wrote this after alot of contemplating on my observations of watching people talk to one another and to me... And after noticing patterns in those that cannot keep their composure, faces flushing, it made me contemplate what makes our faces flush one second and become natural the next, and I came up with three reasons for our faces to become flushed, 1) embarassment, 2) anger(that's more in the forhead), and 3) lieing. When we're over hot we flush as well, though it's constant until we cool off, not there one second and gone the next.
Anyways that is what my poem is about, the rest you can figure out.

Waiting for Andromeda

In 2 billion years the Milky Way
will digest the Large Magellanic Cloud
a dance of two galaxies
who had the time to wait.

I don't spend much time looking at the sky
but last night it was lit up like a canvas of light
with all the constellations just so.

In 4.5 billion years we get punched by Andromeda
its unknown how it will go apart from some
black holes that might get bigger

Earth might get shuffled around
but by then the sun will be a Red Giant
and we all get charcoalled anyway
