The Power Of Money

Money is the common currency that we all use
to purchase goods, helping our lives to be more
fullfilling, but over the years money has become
a lot more to certain business people who tend
to make money a god, they worship over everything

else, their wealth has become paramount even to
the fact they will destroy people's lives, making it
impossible to survive in this world of turmoil.
They will start wars if there is a profit to be made
and governments always want money from taxpayers

around the world, creating taxes that have no real
meaning but an excuse to obtain money from all.
Money as we know it seems to have lost it's value
and will not buy very much these days, creating a
breakdown in our lifestyles and causing, depression

poverty and death through suicide, because the
poor people cannot accept life anymore. The world
seems hell bent on the need for greed, rather than a
fairer society, it is all controlled by the power of money.

Away Across The Ocean

They took our food, they took our land
They robbed us of our pride
When the bodies started piling up
They kicked them to the side

Forced labour and enslavement
While the tall men had their wine
Onlookers from a golden view
Those men once on our side

No potatos in the pot
No cattle in the fields
Our ancient forests exported
To a land of wealth and greed

No medicine for the sick
No fuel for the fire
No shoes for our feet
In a country run by liars

No religion and no schools
Our language banned from speech
Our ancient music outlawed
Nothing left was free

With no hope left they soon would flee
Away across the ocean
To a land of hope and promise
Now the plan was set in motion

Goodbye cruel Isle forever
Good riddens to your foreign rule
We'll take our chances elsewhere
Never more to play the fool

We'll take our chances elsewhere
Forget your foreign rule...

About this poem:
A million people are said to have died of hunger in Ireland in the late 1840s, on the doorstep of the world's richest nation Britain. And around 2 million emigrated in a period of a little more than a decade.

ONE WORLD NO BORDERS

No border is for birds, air or water
No border for flora and fauna
Soil reaps the maize same
Who are we to give name?

Everyone travels to eat, drink and be merry
Hug relatives, friends and collect memory
Politician visit nations to strengthen ties
Why do they 'tie' when we Must 'Untie'?
Tie with one and leave others?
Untie ties and free from wars!

Migratory birds fly half globe
Not to make homes
Nomadics are only Alive
Each day a new sunshine

Mingle, tingle, sing a jingle
Pull down barriers and borders
Africans go Siberia, Mongols to Brasilia
Northerns go South, Easterns go West

Exchange lingos, cultures and traditions
Migrations will come to least
Everywhere there will be feast
Not countries, states or continents
Let us make 'One World' !!

Torture Devices

I was watching this show on the History Channel
All these different methods of torture
We have become so civilized and done away with most of them
What have we replaced them with?
Slavery in jail
Making money for companies like Victoria's Secret
40 cents an hour
Making goods real cheap
We have more blacks in jail today than were slaves during slavery times
The marriage rate was also much better during slavery times
So where is the progress really?
What is the answer if not torture or jail?
I guess I would ask Norway
They seem to have it done the right way

About this poem:
There were some pretty horrific punishments back in the old days. I wonder if it is not more cruel and unusual to separate a father from his family and throw him away in jail than the old day punishments.

Time To Time

Joy
Is always found
In the quiet
Reflections
Of gratitude
Peace
Can find a way
Upon closer
Inspections
Of common
Respect
Love
Finding its way
Making new
Affections
Closer
Bringing together
The raw ingredients
Blending baking
Following perfect
Directions
Life
A big recipe
You just follow to
Perfection
And opportunity
Happens
From time to time

man's badlands

who knows what evil lurks out there
in the badlands of men's bloody hearts

willing to rage rage against the light
and pull the frayed corners of decency

to the bubbling hot geysered muck
of anger, ever higher, more explosive

always angry red, spilling, spattering
boggled mind at the sinister uselessness

of acts of wanton depravity of soul
to hurt ever more creatively, wrecklessly

denying the refuge of dying peacefully
the darkness revels in cries of pain

from the villages and fields and streets
the old men, the children, young women

dragged into the badlands, all tortured
pulled into the men's black hole of evil

where only God can reconcile the bottom
and give mercy of grace to victims cries

Letter to the world

Even in 2013 we play games to annihilate and incarcerate,
With no change to the order of society's ability to discriminate.
All of us have differences with not two of being the same,
Yet rather than learn from one another we continue to walk with shame.
For over centuries and decades we continue to destroy each other,
As opposed to us taking a seat next to someone to learn from another.
When do we wake up and realize that we aren't doing something right,
Why do we blindly pass on even as we approach the holy light.
We are all brothers and sisters no matter our religion or color,
Created in the image of a spirit to support ones who feel smaller.
Decide for yourself and ask why things are the way they are,
Be the voice of light and be the change with unity as the star.

About this poem:
My resolution has been to keep the faith in 2013 because in a time in which all seems lost and our struggles are greatly increased we can be the change. We can ask ourselves why we continue to segregate ourselves just because we're different. Life is far to short to spend it hating on others for reasons out of your control. Look at others as brothers and sisters who are here to teach us view without bias and without judgement. For every life there is a soul in search of knowledge lets not walk with blinders.I love you all and hope through our differences we can learn to find ourselves in a truly United Space

Just a daily routine

It was a Sunday morning.
Just woke up yawning.
Wiped my face and
Went downstairs racing
To see what my boy was doing.
ESPN on the tv, my boys talking a language in which I was fluent.
Said was up to the homeboys.
Right then and there my boy got a call from a known voice.
The voice said “yo I need to make a delivery
To high street, 383”
That was the address.
But my nigga was taking care of his kid, he was under mad stress.
So he asked me for the favor.
I said, “Say no more homie”, grabbed the molly, “see ya later”.
Stuffed the molly in the knapsack
Smelt some mary jane in the air, “yo homie pass that”
Took 2 tokes and I was outtie
Started walking towards the address, walked past a few shortys
Broke my neck a few times
Had the headphones in with the instrumentals started busting a few rhymes .
Was at the spot in no time, just the daily routine.
Or so it seemed.
383 dangling from the structure of the house.
Knocked on the door and the girl that answered knew what I was about.
So she let me in.
She was sexy, I was dreaming about getting it in.
Then I realized who was in the apartment
Saw a skinny kid in the living room, starving..
He was crying his eyes out
The price is the only thing she was tryna find out.
$100 dollars was what she owed me.
But I couldn’t stop staring at the lil homie.

Wants and Needs

I try to write,
my thoughts,
my feelings;
the emotion that pulsate through me, the experience that come before me.

Somedays the sadness
Seems to just stay
Food becomes tasteless
Life now gloomy
Since you went away

The heart breaking truth
But our lust I don't regret
Life is full of mistakes
what is life if we don't learn?
what is life if we don't greed?
Not only for money,
but love,
trust,
even beliefs;
and for some of us,
just simple peace.

And so the world is built on our wants and need;
shelter,
food,
water,
clothing;
wanting riches and non-necessity

We sleep our heads on feathered pillows,
while others rest bitterly,
waiting for a better tomorrow.

No More Love

The world is on the verge of hell,
Undergoing a terrible spell.
The Angels weep from heaven above,
Watching the world lose all its love.

Innocent people have lost their lives
All for the greed of the propertied.
Wars have ravished any goodness left.
Brought about a lot of hurt and theft.

The world, once pure has been corrupted
With the venomous poison of those who run it.
Those who've been chosen to lead the world,
Manipulate individuals and don't keep their word.

The populace now regrets their decision
To trust mankind in the hands of politicians.
Humanity is shattered because it was all massacred
By the ruling powers of the world.

There is no more love in a world so tough,
Due to the everlasting evil
That has dominated the world primeval.

Although evil has a strong grip,
Good will never let the world slip
Into the hands of those who wish to harm
And lead all good souls to their death.

Good always triumphs,
And overcomes all defiance.
