How To Treat Women

Don't yell at them
Don't hit them
Tell them you love them
Show them you love them
Don't control them
Don't get jealous
Don't look at them as sex objects
Listen to them
Talk to them
Tell them you appreciate them

About this poem:
Watched a documentary Domestic Violence. One of the more memorable quotes came from a little girl who said, "If my dad dies, I wouldn't cry." The theme seemed to be that there are a lot of guys out there that don't love themselves, because if they did there wouldn't be all this horrible crap done to women.

About this poem:
people are more isolated now amidst all these technology...virtual connection is really not necessarily a positive human experience...the only good thing I get out of it is the fact that it shows us who's really interested in making us a part of their lives. It's been the best measure of loyalty and support I have known by far...

The last of us

Does our journey
through the pain and the torture
the rivers of blood
the sacrifices
that we
and our familys
have endured
down through the ages
does it all
end here
has the silent war
that our ancestors fought
so hard
to keep us alive
to bring us back
from the edge
has it all
been in vain

Slowly we are dieing
one by one
while we remain
scattered on this earth
does it all end
here
in this century
the final closeing of the circle
that haunts us
from the past
where greed and ignorance
once again achives
the destruction of our World
where directed chaos
breaks the bones
of our tatterd dreams
to reunite
different colors
different cultures
to reunite
the one tribe
that will bind us
the one tribe
that will set Free
our birth right
the right to be
a Human being

politics

politics is the art of deception,
trained to outwit people,
through the art of words,
just like a salesman,
selling a product,
bought by many,
sold by few

Home...

Home is sweet, not bitter,
Home is fun, not a drag,
Home is full of meaning, not a perplex,
Home is perfect, not an angst,
Home is right, not wrong,
Home is easy, not difficult...

Home is an anchor,
Home is where you hear laughter,
Home is warm and fuzzy,
Home is where earl grey tea tastes better,
Home is a delight,
Home is exciting,
Home is where Mom is,
Home is where the children are,
Home is where your friends are and people who smile at you,
Home is where your work is,
Home is where you can take your mask off and be yourself,
Home is where you are,
Home is... home...

Commotional

Heavy rains spilling out of bursting clouds
Soaking wet feeling is the mood it enshrouds
Past crowded highways when leaving town
Frustrated commuters spreading all around
Such frantic rush
Protesters swarming in the village square
Chanting slogans the greedy better beware
While corks still popping on luxury yachts
Ducks and cavier could care but naught
Someone tell them hush
Crazy neighbors yelling across the street
Like alley cats fighting whenever they meet
TV News anchors speak with heated fume
How doom and gloom are bride and groom
What a bunch of mush
Collasping into my chair I fix my weary stare
Out my rain streaked window a focused glare
Of a streetlamp flickering glow atop a stop sign
Yes please stop spinning out of control crazy world
I'm home at last and it's time to unwind
And take that first sip of wine....

Saying It, Not Doing It

You know what we have to do
We need to take better care of ourselves
We need to eat more fruits and vegetables
We need to be nice to our neighbors
We need to bike and walk instead of using our cars
We need to elect politicians who really care about us
We need to elect a president who will balance the budget
We need to have police who respect all people
We need to get rid of all the cameras and the drones
We need a worldwide minimum wage that respects the dignity of people
We need to go to Mars and establish settlements there and other moons
We need to mind our own business when it comes to religion
We need to laugh more
We need to stop saying mean things that hurt others feeling
We need to have able bodied people work who can work
We need to quit making excuses about not having free medical care
We need people to not have so many kids who cannot take care of them
We need people to leave their cell phones off at the movie theater
We need people to leave their cell phones off while driving
We need to take the licenses away from drunk drivers
We need more love in the world
We need to forgive ourselves

Whispered Freedom

Emancipation was the key to the Promised Land, a sweeter, brighter, a more blissful life stretched out over time. The thoughts of freedom and freedoms came fearful like a powerful wave of sea water; a steadily crashing movement moving more away that too. Years have flown by and decades too, where are we now in this long fought war.
Has our long fight for freedom illuminated our vision or are we so pressed down we lost our zeal and sight? Yes, chief gains has been made in the quest for endowed freedoms with liberty and justice for all too balance this uneven playing field we have come to know as injustice. The balance is not equally shared but it’s longer than the bridge to nowhere because we are trying to get too somewhere. We look forward to the day when freedom is an advanced guarded liberty for all and not just a dream. We bore the whips and wear the scars of time, humbled by the pilgrimage of sacrifices and scorn. Let us not get caught up in the swift swirl of living and join the paradox of I got mine, now you get yours and fall on our own swords. The mirrors are reflecting back as we look steel faced at this unflattering world, largely divided by the haves and the haves not. Where do we place the blame?
Pardon me if I’m shouting too loudly, the sunlight that brought the cloud doesn’t have to bring the rain. Don’t swell your voices with hallelujahs until your blessings come; unless you are outraged as the trampled upon. To hear the expressions of whispered words is just an enchantment of yet to come..........

Worlds within...

When I was young and naive, I believed the world was out there,
I looked at the vast continent on which I was born, my beloved Africa,
And I drooled,
What beasts were hidden just beyond yonder?
Who lived just across that river?
What was that jungle like way over there, where the horizon met the sky?
What islands lay just beyond further than I could see, yes, yes, just over there, just out of reach surrounded by the magnificent and never-ending Indian Ocean?
And my young heart pounded with excitement at the prospect of crossing one more river, journeying into one more jungle, setting foot on one more island...

Now, after some fifty plus years of exploring terra firma, my thirst has not been assuaged one iota,
My wonder-lust is as expansive as ever,
I still want to visit more islands, cross more rivers, sail more seas, meet more new faces,
However, I have travelled far and wide,
And have seen a lot more than my teenage eyes had,
And, now, now I wonder what’s within,
I find myself besotted with another kind of wonder-lust,
This time though,
Its directed inward,
To those equally vast and endless worlds within,
The ones the ‘banksters’ have sought to keep from us, so their enslavement of us can continue unabated,
Now, even ‘respected’ professors are talking about ‘population-reduction’,
There’re far too many of us on the planet they say,
They only need 500,000,000 of us, one can only wonder if their relentless attempts to vaccinate us, to send us to war, to poison our food and water, to ‘chemtrail’ our skies,
Are mere veiled weapons of mass-destruction, a term one hears bandied about more and more,
‘eugenics’ they call it,
I call it mass, homicidal, murder perpetrated by cowardly technocrats, revelling in the slaughter of innocents, including angelic, little children...

Although I’ve spent a couple of decades exploring the worlds within,
I know I have not yet scratched the surface,
But, I journey on,
Experiencing a delicious breakthrough every now and then,
But, I still feel like some Lilliputian,
Travelling down some forlorn stream in a matchbox-boat,
Fancying himself to be on the high seas exploring...
