The American Dream

Have you bought, the scheme?
That keeps you in debt, to the 1%
The house, the car.
I want, I want, I want it all!!!
But first I have to pay off, this college Tution course.
25,00.00 in the hole.
I must get a job, to pay it all off.
Sadly there is no job in my field,
This was not apart, of the deal.
They told me to get a education
I would be at the top.
Right now I have to find a job,
If it means, pushing a mop.
One credit card left, I've paid off 3
These interest rates, are killing me.
I wish I took some time to think
Things through.
The white picket fence, if only I knew.
The American Dream, I had to pursue.
A mortgage seemed, so unreal at the time.
That old French word
Mort- dead
Gage- pledge
Plagues, the mind
What was I thinking, IM not free.
In debt, I will forever be.
I bought the dream, red, white & blue
Education, house, car & other things to.
Yes I bought the dream!!!
but they sold me a lie
The American dream, comes with a stiff price.
So before you want a piece of the pie
Remember in debt we trust, is the truth
Behind the lies...

Explain To Me Please

We have come so far
here we are one hundred years
buildings high as the sky so it seems
trains planes automobils
freeways and highways and country roads
robots that tell us what too do
rovers on mars men walking on the moon
cell phones i-pods what to do
internet i can talk to you
a second around the world
ever thought why were so great?
generations before us six thousand years
we did this in one hundred years
Is it me or am I missing something?

Road To Freedom

Cast off on your saintly voyage you wretched sinner
Puff your chest so full of yourself what a disgusting winner
Can’t you please understand there’s really no right or wrong
What you define as inferior may be in my own way just as strong
The world is so full of hypocrites who cast their evil gaze
And expect as much from diplomats with such practiced craze
Be aware that most will just agree to let you rule so seldom
For in the end our votes will send you down the road to freedom

The Brotherhood of Man

THE BROTHERHOOD OF MAN

Why can’t the peoples of the world just learn to get along?
To be the Universal Race to which we all belong.
I don’t care what faith you are or the colour of your skin.
All I know is that we’re all born from the original sin.

Everyone is someone’s love – Father – Brother – Son.
Such hatred in the world today and look at what it’s done.
Some get great satisfaction from planting bombs they make,
And death and devastation follow in their wake.

Families divided, with brother killing brother.
For every bullet they expend they leave a crying mother.
Thousands die for freedom or in the name of God,
And all the rest of us can do is lay them ‘neath the sod.

‘Why does God allow this?’, we cry out in our pain.
But this is not His doing. He has naught to gain.
Each side is certain they are right, and will brook no contradiction.
And that’s when all the slaughter starts, to force a valediction.

Why can’t the peoples of the world call every man ‘My Brother’,
And live in joy and harmony, with love for one another.
Why can’t we choose the ways of peace to forge a bond so strong?
Why can’t the peoples of the world just learn to get along?

If I Were President

If I were president here's what I would do
Make drugs legal and the drinking age 18 too
I would get out of Afghanistan and Iraq
I would give the Iraqis their oil back
It would be legal to not wear a seatbelt across my pants
I would make it legal to not have car insurance
People could talk on cell phones in their cars without a fine
I would get rid of income tax so I could go out and dine
My stance on abortion would be it's none of the government's business
My stance on guns would be keep them locked up so noone makes a mess
I would pay back the national debt and get rid of the federal reserve
A bright future without their parent's debt is what kids deserve
I would stop bullying at school
I would make it legal again to teach the golden rule
There would be prayer in school
I would make Halloween a legal holiday for kids to rule
Even adults could dress up and look like a fool
So listen clear to what I say
I would do all of that on the first day

Just having more fun with the election and what fun it would be to be in charge and actually have some power to do good, or at least do what I feel is good.

Write For Peace (Soulgoddess challenge-Acrostic)

Worldwide love of nature shared by all
Responsible leaders whose egos fall
Into cities let the green earth sprawl
Take the hand of all those who crawl
Energy made by every roof and wall

Foster belief in fairness for us all
Outlaw nuclear weapons in a brawl
Respect those who answer our call

Prayers when natural disasters befall
Equality for all nations in every trawl
A place for every culture at the mall
Creating goodwill by standing tall
Every voice is heard at town hall

About this poem:
Acrostic poetry style to hopefully list a few universal ideals for "Peace" which I believe really starts with 'respect' and 'equality' for everyone else in the world.

The Girl with Two Lips

Once Upon in modern times
There was a girl with two lips…
She was gentle, passionate, and full of dreams
But, non was revealed, other than her Two lips

The girl with two lips
Never had a passion on her lips
She hires her lips, for lucrative bids…

The girl with two lips
Pretends sensations on her lips
She moans for starvation
in her mumbling lips...

The girl with two lips
Dress elegant - to cover her lips
She pleads for dignity
Under her covered lips...

The girl with two lips
come on...
She is another girl with two lips
She should not be in poems
read by cultured lips !!!

Some out of tune teens
With really bad attitudes
Taking center stage

What is

What is Human
what does it mean
to be
what does it mean
to feel
someone in sorrow
to feel
the tears
of a broken child
inside your borders
of lets pretend
so what does it mean
when you proudly announce
that you are

second hand

most of my stuff is second hand
not by desire more by demand
it has a history all of its own
from house to house a character grown

the couch has come from twentyfive years past
the old couple i bought it off made it last
a little bit threadbare but thats ok
its as comfortable as the very first day

a garage sale supplied my table an chairs
it had been repaired but i dont care
the fabric faded but the finish good
a little polish an its lovely wood

the tv's a corker i bought from my son
who just happened to be given it from his mum
well now it mine an i think i've been done
cause it doesnt work when i want it to run

a four piece cane setting down to three
its from the outlaws an it was free
its still in good nick i might add
it has a place where it is glad

a coffe table i picked up out or the dump
in a big skip where the recycling is done
all by itself perfectly standing true
placed by someone who used to love you

its camphor laurel a pest around these parts
but with a cut an polish its a beautiful art
amazing to me i was showing a bloke
what you could find to raise your stoke

his jaw dropped when he did see
what i had what came up with me
he couldn't believe what people would do
to get rid of the clutter an the glue

well thats about all that i own
an there's a warmth in here that has grown
it comes from the pieces of stuff that live
in this home........... a place of give
