"I Promise You "

Weeping young lady heard what she never wanted to hear
That dreaded "D" word
.....days passed.....

Then a promise made to her.

Sweetie we really had to divorce
I know it's been a lot of years
It'll be better this way in time
Tear'd eyes both, they sit.....

I'm going to make you a promise .....
I'll never just settle
I'll wait for that right person to come along.

I'm making this promise to you because.

To just settle....
Tears you cried that day
Would have been in vain.

As I hurt your heart for no reason.

we got you a card

The tables set
The Sunday roast is cooked
The veg is on
The gravy made

The cards on the table
It read to you mother dearest
Join us for dinner
Your seat is empty

Where once you sat
We think of you daily
We wonder why you went
God wanted you

You where heaven sent
Its been awhile since you departed
Your card waits for you the flowers we got
Have Sunday dinner with us mother dear
Happy mothers day

Are we safe

A place of fun and peace,
a place to call home.

One Night is all it took to distroy it all..

Now we hide inside with huge locks,
we always walk with someone never alone,
carry a knife, a gun, pepper spray.

One Night of banging down a door to get to us...

Now we don't sleep, and shake at ever sound.

In ONE Night they took it all away.

About this poem:
They tried to break down our door one night last week and it has distroyed our peace of mind.
4 woman alone, but my mom of 69 shot her 38 special and scared them away:)

As a child I remember living like this in the war,and at 50 it begins again.

Picture This

Picture this : A little girl is playing on a beach on a warm sunny day. Her mother is close by keeping watch full eye over her but she still has those mischievous feelings that the open space of the beach can bring.

Picture this : That same girl in school explaining to her teacher how she bumped her head so hard when she walked into the door she had to go to hospital again You see dad gets irritable when he is drunk and she longs for the feelings the the open space of the beach can bring.

Picture this : A shell shocked soldier overcomes his fear of war and dying and crawls from his bunker dodging a hail of bullets and pulls a dying countryman to safety just because he wears the same uniform as him.

Picture this : A Lonely old man sits at his kitchen table drinking himself to death his only friend is the collection of war medals neatly stored in a glass cabinet. Also neatly stored in his head are the horrors he faces every day with memories he has of killing men who did not have the same uniform as him.

Picture this : A country cottage on a cold winters night but there is a warm fire burning. Two lovers under a bearskin rug naked hold on so tight very much in love and feeling the after glow of lovemaking the happiness that only love and life can bring.

Picture this : A country cottage on a cold winters night but the fire is going out. An elderly couple lie in bed backs to each other.cold almost shivering. A lifetime wasted on uncertainties and mistrust awaiting loneliness that only love and death can bring.

Picture this : A respected business man emerges from his Mercedes dressed in a smart suit, he has worked so hard to get to were he is. He walks toward his plush house warm from the love his family have created.

Picture this : A respected business man emerges from his Mercedes. There is a woman a little younger than he is lying on the pavement a needle protruding from her arm,he has worked so hard to hide his past. You see little sister has the cold his family have created.

Picture this ; Two elderly old friends sit on a shaded park bench. They chat occasionally but just as content with their silence as they are with their conversation and laughter. Both men have much to gain from their friendship.

Picture this : Two old friends sit on a shaded park bench. They chat occasionally but happier in silence. They both have secrets they know about their past they both have ghosts that they would rather not be made visible. Both men have allot to lose from their friendship.

Picture this : As you walk away from these pictures trying to eradicate the ones that have made you feel uncomfortable, turn and take a look at the pictures you have created there is a tiny piece of each of us in each picture for they represent the photo album of the average human being. There is good and bad in all of us it just depends on what you want to see in your pictures.

Reflections

I am reflecting back on my life.
Yet what reflection do i see?
Who is looking back at me?
Child careful not to upset anyone.
Adult who is used to being abused.
Content wife walking God's path.
The widow walking in faith.
I never know which one.
Will make an appearance into the day.
Which one wants an appearance.
Can i just always see the real me
looking back at me.

SECRETS UNFOLDED (SPOKEN WORD)

You never wanted me
form the moment you
knew i was there.
You showed me only
what you wanted me
to see.
You hurt me so deep
the knife could not
go deep enough to
pull out the pain.
Never wanting me.
Only abusing me.
Beating me daily
as if i was the
problem for the
mess up in your
life.
Giving me as a
present to guys
you called boyfriends.
In order to keep
them happy, content.
I was but a child you
robbed that from me.
Yet to this day.
You can not see the
issues you caused.
Putting yourself on
a shelf calling yourself
the greatest mom ever.
Lying to keep out the
dark secrets that
invade my life.
Soothing the darkness
with alcohol for then
you will be great in
your own mind.
Wake up for that is
never to be i am here
telling this.
I am real i exist.
I know the truth
others will know
SOON.

Inside Out (SPOKEN WORD)

Your words cut me
so DEEP.
Tearing my flesh
from my bones.
Leaving it for the
vultures to devour.
This is how you made
me feel since i can
r. e. m. e. m. b. e. r.
EXPOSED
OPEN
for all the world to
see the torment and
tragedy you caused me.
Trying to pull out of
this with some semblance
of positivity.
Yet there is none for
me to see.
Promising myself never
to be the image of you.
Never to let you change
my life to fit your needs.
Only grow and love like
never before.
Somewhere out there is
happiness for me.
I just need to reach out
for it with both hands
and pull it into me.
I deserve this day of
smiles.
I deserve to be here and
say LORD you have shown
me the way.
I get down on my knees
crying out to HIM our
father saying thank you
for watching out for me.
For without you i could
of never found this
freedom i seek.
This family i ache for.
I could never have turned
into the real me you see
before you now.
Thank you for seeing me
and the person i could be
if i just let her free.
